If people think that we were defensive thus far in this season, I have a feeling that today we are about to raise up our defensive strategy by another notch or two - after the last few results the cone man cannot afford another loss (especially at home), and he will also be aware of the loss of partey who is the ONLY decent CDM we have, so he will try to compensate by putting an extra (shite) defensive midfielder in there

Personally, with the absence of partey I would put luiz in there and play one of the other numpty's alongside him - wont happen of course, so we will probably have xhaka, elnenny and ceballos to excite us for the night

Partey still crocked for this.

So 2 from Xhaka, Getafe, El Neny and Willock

I’d go for Willock and El Neny.

:suicide:
Sit back and watch how we turn the previously ever present, ever fit Partey into another one with ongoing injuries. What a great choice those other four, fuck me
Latest Arsenal injury news ahead of Wolves test with Mikel Arteta sweating on the fitness of Willian..... :D :D :D
Imagine things being so bad that you're sweating on the fitness of Mister 220k per week himself - a Chavski reject to rival helmet head

Dear God, Luiz in midfield? He’s barely got enough mobility to play centre back in a 2... the thought of him plodding around midfield, turning like a barge and getting caught, is the stuff of nightmares    he’d be like a shitter version of Xkaha and I didn’t think that was possible!

I never want to see Luiz in midfield. I’d much rather we play 3 at the back with Luiz having licence to carry the ball into midfield. He needs to see the play in front of him, not all around him.

With the exception of alex mong, there is no-one that I would want less in my midfield than xhaka - luiz on one leg would be better imo, IF he just sat in front of the back 4 protecting them, and got on the ball to ping balls in behind their slow backline for auba, then it would be my preferable option

Fair enough. It’s surely academic anyway as I doubt it’ll ever happen.... thank fuck!

A midfield to set the pulse racing - Ceballos, Xhaka, Willian and Willock. Unless its the Europa League butchers, bakers and candlestick makers or Fulham.....not a goal or assist amongst the bunch of them

Absolutely incredible that he let the transfer window pass without signing a single creative player

He was beige as a player mate and he's proving to be beige as a manager

Who is “he”? - Edu or Arteta?

It’s common knowledge Arteta wanted a Creative midfielder and we were linked with Aouar all summer until we eventually gave up and signed a more defensive midfield in the closing minutes of the window.

What else can a manager do but request a player?

Bit like when Emery wanted Zaha and got Pepe then?

Don't like the look of this Wolves team at all. Strong, Fast, Attacking lineup. Everything we're not at the moment.

I'm not optimistic. :(

We really need to win this. Can’t say I’m confident though looking at the 2 lineups.

I just don’t think this system suits us without Partey in midfield. We just look too lightweight and slow.

Playing 3-4-3 without Partey seems a better fit at the moment so I’m a little concerned he’s moved away from it last weekend and again today.

Hoping I’ll be pleasantly surprised though. Saka might need to play a blinder here!
