Gregory made them unlikeable and O’Leary made them worse. A bit more tolerable under Unai. O’Leary in particular had some weird hatred for us, possibly because of the way Wenger turned the club into defacto dictatorship and made some ex players persona non grata.
They are a bit Jekyll and Hyde so who knows what team might show up. I’d quite like a clean sheet

In fairness to Wenger (has that ever been said here?) GG sold DOL to leeds. When DOL retired GG was leeds manager and appionted him as ass manager. DOL later become manager after GG got the archer.
Wenger has is faults but David OLeary being a *word censored* is not one of them.
He was all about getting a job.

O’Leary had a deep hatred of Wenger and always got his team pumped up against us in a nasty way. I didn’t see the same energy when he came up against Fergie.

Rumours that Saliba is out.
Source: The Standard

Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are still out, while there have been tentative and unconfirmed whispers on social media that William Saliba could yet be a doubt for the game.

However, it is worth stressing at this stage that Arteta did not mention anything to do with the French defender during his pre-match press conference on Friday when asked about possible injuries .

Standard: Predicted Arsenal XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Martinelli, Havertz, Trossard

Doubt: Calafiori

Injured: Jesus (knee), Nwaneri (groin) Saka (hamstring), Tomiyasu (knee), White (knee)

Time and date: 5:30pm GMT on Saturday January 18, 2025
TV channel: Sky Sports
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Referee: Chris Kavanagh Having thisCUNT in charge is like playing against 12 men.

Villa have lost a load of away games on the bounce, or at least not won until the scrappy one the other day. Has to be home win. No excuse. But we will concede and can't see us scoring 2. Ones a struggle. But that said we are surely due to start converting some of these chances and stop the comedy misses.

Sign a striker ffs huntelaar not retired yet is he?!

There are few teams I'd back our current line up to score more than 1 against

Spurs Reserves/Thirds are clearly one and Southampton seem hell bent on gifting teams a minimum of 3 per game. Leicester perhaps.

We just need so many chances to score and without Saka a penalty is only a 50/50 chance too.

It's very unfair on our defence who need to be nearly perfect every game. They've done an immense job but ofc they can't keep a clean sheet every week. These fuckers will just sit and hit on the break and players like Watkins, Bailey, Duran are perfect for that

I think this lack of striker is even more glaring than when we all screamed at Wenger to sign a Vieira replacement, and a few years later a commanding centre half. The sad old prick actually had plenty of players in those positions- they just weren't up to it. These days we've got Havertz and err....that's it. No academy CF anywhere in sight and even the pony Jesus was our only other option and he's gone for a year. I just don't know any other team in the league with 2 options up top. Everton perhaps and look at them. It's abysmal mismanagement from manager through to the much lauded Edu who was here at the start of the season, and all those in charge of the transfer negotiations

None of us are being wise after the event. We all said it before a ball was kicked this season. Even if Havertz and Jesus went the whole season without a single injury or suspension it was plain to see. How on earth have we got into this position. I dont especially mind that we sold Balogun and Nketiah these past couple of years and we got decent enough money for them- but how has none of that been reinvested in a proper striker.

Can only pray that something really active is going on behind the scenes 🙏

I'm sure we'll have 757 shots just like Watford did on that famous day that didn't get mentioned enough :D

The difference being if Havertz has all 757 we will still be goalless!

He'll score a screamer but it will be ruled out by VAR due to his right ball being offside
