have to agree with most posts but giving abuse to one or two people is one thing. but when its dozens leaving what can you do? me on me jacks telling the 50/60 people around me leaving that they're twats dosen't work.
(this is not aimed at those early leavers who do have valid reason for leaving early....oh and not having to cue for the train is not a valid reason)
think ive heard this sugggested before but those who do leave early should have to swipe their cards on the way out. the club can then see who leaves early on a regular basis and from here they will be able to consisder maybe offering there memberships to more deserving fans.

But
I doubt very much most of the early arrivers/leavers have proper reasons for it like you. Given that it costs so much to watch a game you'd think people would want to savour it a bit. The beauty of football is goals can go in at any time so why would you jeapordise being a part of that by trying to get home half an hour earlier.

I tend not to leave the ground untill each player has left the field of play.
I have left early in the past, left Man Utd with 2 or 3 minutes left to play as I had to catch the last train back to London and Spurs I left about 3 or 4 minutes early to avoid the street carnival that would have been going on if I'd stayed till the last minute (respect to those who stayed, but shame to those who left at half time and after goal number 4 in these games).
I think locking the gates five minutes before kick off is a little unfair as for not fault of their own people are late...but I think regular late comers should be given a word of warning and membership cancelled if it happens half a dozen times a season or so.
Likewise anyone leaving early should have to swipe your membership card to allow you to exit and again if it happens more than 5 times you get a word that you're abusing your membership and there are people who'd give their right arm to be a silver/gold member.
best sollution i could come up with

some fans can get picky with this subject
when Arsenal were losing to barca in paris i made my way down the staris to wait at the top & Arsenal fans we're shouting my way about ah how good of a supporter i really am, not a fair comment to say so i came out the tuneral & said i'm watching it ere you prick (well not me the bloke i was with lol)
i was never going to see barca lifting that trophy & stood by it, this being the same at the carling cup final v chelsea
if you see Arsenal losing 5-0 or whatsoever to Spurs cause you want to fuck off home early it was murder watching them & wasn't shocked with how many were still left in the Lane, it's different when your in Manchester
I've left a couple of times early at the new & old stadiums with my ol man or my mum wanting me to come home safely a few mins early for the night games
otherwise i watch Arsenal till the end no matter what at the moment, death & illness won't even stop me

Just so you and other people are aware there were some rather annoying delays on the picadilly line yesterday and also on the national rail, screwing me over and resulting in myself and many others being 5 or 10 minutes late.donaldo wrote:Did you see how many empty seats there were at kick off? If its a 12.45pm kick off they are late,If its a 3pm kick off they are late,if its a 7.45pm kick off they are late. Do these muppets turn up for work late every day. What i would do is shut the turnstiles 5mins before kick off. Then see have many fans would turn up late
First time I have ever missed a kick off but point being some people are late through no real fault of their own. And some people are muppets

People leaving 5 minutes before half-time for a hot dog, or before the final whistle to 'beat' the crowds...thats just disgraceful in my opinion.

Either you support your club or you turn up just to be seen.
I always stay too clap the players off and show my appreciation even if we lose, because Arsenal FC is a part of me.
Problem is some of the fans are really just glory hunters and have no passion for the club
Leaving early for train is no excuse - it just shows disrespect to the players and the staff at Arsenal FC

If you left Ashburton Grove early five minutes before the end of every game this season alone think of what you'd miss
Van Persies wonder goal against Inter in the pre-season game against Inter
Both Van Persie and Hleb against Fulham in the first game of 2007-08
Eduardos first goal for Arsenal against Sparta Prague
Bentdner and Denilsons goals for Arsenal vs Newcastle in the beer cup
Gallas in the last minute against the Mancs
Fabregas assulting Cashley Cole leaving the twat on the floor injured
Adebayour against Blackburn recently
Isn't that enough to tell you not to leave before the bloody end!

True True True. This sort of behaviour by these 'alleged' gooners is, in my humble opinion, outrageous.rocky7 wrote:...

I've never been to the Emirates, as there is the slight problem of a 2000 mile
gap between my house and A.G.
However I was a regular fixture at Highbury, from '71, as a six year old, to the late ''90's as a middle aged ex-'alleged' hooligan'

People leaving early makes my blood curdle.
If any of you are old enough to remember, can you imagine early leavers (in any large numbers) being tolerated in the early to mid eighties ?
They would've been eaten alive.
It's a sad thing to say , but of our 60.000+ attendances, I reckon 50k of you are MUPPETS. Day trippers, who demand the same experience at a live game, that you do in front of your TV.
I.E.- Safe atmosphere with no swearing, no unruly singing that may detract from your viewing enjoyment, of a game you have only had an affinity with since,(at most) Italia 90.
Obviously, I'm generalising greatly, but I'm sure true supporters get my drift.
At Old Trafford, we used to sing, 50.000 MUPPETS.
What are other clubs supporters going to sing at us...
The attendances at most of the games then were so bad, you probably wouldn't have noticed the difference if a bunch of people left. 24,000 was pretty average back then, and I remember going to a few league games where there were as few as 16,000 or so.Hagbard 23 wrote:If any of you are old enough to remember, can you imagine early leavers (in any large numbers) being tolerated in the early to mid eighties ?
For someone who's not been to an Arsenal home game for at least two years, it takes some front to make that sort of generalisation. Which by the way is bullshit. I agree it's different now, and in some ways not as exciting. But 50,000 of those going to Arsenal games are muppets? Well done Hag, you're a top geezer.Hagbard 23 wrote:It's a sad thing to say , but of our 60.000+ attendances, I reckon 50k of you are MUPPETS. Thank fuck the hooligan tossers have disappeared, good riddance to that bunch of losers.

I see where your coming from, and I actually agree with a couple of your statements, but c'mon, as an armchair fan, what I see of AG on TV and reading past comments on here and other forums, Emirates is full of Prawn Sarnie eaters isn't it??
Or am I wrong?
And please don't bring up the fact that I am an Armchair.
I've been to Uefa games in the middle of the week in the pouring rain in various European cities. I know that doesn't make me more of a fan than anyone else, but I've certainly done my apprenticeship with the Arse'.
Ok your right, maybe my estimation of 50.000 of the crowd are muppets was a bit of an exaggeration, but surely you get my point.
Anyone who feels the need to ask a steward to ask the guy sitting next to you to stop singing, to sit down, etc doesn't really belong at a football match. If you want SAFE, watch it on TV.
Shit, it's not a fecking theatre in Leicester sq.
People living in the UK are becoming totally homogenised, you're missing out on so much of the glory of the true football experience.
look at Footy in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece. Look at the BIG games there. True Atmosphere.
Look at a big game in England....not much atmosphere, lots of Hotdogs being sold.
You're being conned in England. You may have the best players, but you have the most boring supporters.
You police yourselves out of having a good time.
The FA says behave this way, because this is the norm. Actually its not.
But you all obey and act like the sheep you are.
Football has become a part of the Police State that you have all been complicit in.
Your lack of 'Balls' is legendary in Europe.
Go watch a match in Germany (as i did last month), and you'll see my point.
And nobody bring up the issue of hooliganism. In all of the leagues I've quoted, sure its been a problem, but look at leagues 1, 2, and the championship...This problem has not disappeared, its just been swept to the lower divisions. The F.A is strangely silent on these matters.
Just keep repeating...
WE ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD...WE ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD...WE ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD...WE ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD.

Yes, I can say that as I am normally in the Highbury area for 2-3 hours before the kick off and in the ground 1/2 hour before for my final beer of the day. Have never been late and have never left early.I understand your frustrations, but can any of you honestly tell me you have never been late for a game?
