Smoothy people are praising him now doesnt seem too hard to praise when he is playing wellTheOne2Smooth wrote:maybe because your not reading the same post as I am! If Senderos made a major mistake last night there would of been a flock of gooners gunning for Senderos and you included! its easy to condemn but far harder to praise!

Here you go Smoothie.............

Phil last night after the game receiving the Gus Legend Most Improved Player Award for Feburary.
(The trophy seem to be apt as the ball is nowhere near him while he has a wild slash)
Seriously though yes he has played well and had a blinder last night!
If he continues in this form he may well get even Smoother than you!
Imagine that!

The only thing up until now he was good at was the Arsenal mastermind quiz
but seriously i'm glad to see the improvement of Phil, he was blinding for us in the last part of the 04/05 season & in my view forced Campbell out of Arsenal in one way, shame he also got injured that season
ok he was pony for us last year but lets move them plays out the way & make room for a new CB legend

Do spare me. I will slag off Senderos or any other player based on the severity of their mistake. You say we have no right to slag a player off, but seeing as I'm a paying customer, who are you to slag off my point of view? Please spare me all the 'easier to condemn but harder to praise' bullshit, because I've been praising him when he deserves it. Big Phil is potentially great. He was looking promising before the world cup but has struggled with a lack of comnfidence (and a lack of a good run in the team) since he broke his collar bone. I know that is a long time back but I feel that he is starting to show that form. Not sure what it was, or if in fact the two are related but I think you can trace back the loss of form to then.
Far to early to really make comparissions but I still see bits of Tony Adams in him and think he could be as reliable in the future.
Possible long-term option anyway.
Agree??? or am I jst crazy?

I agree. He has got all the potential and the right manger who backs him.Fabby is a Foot (Leg-end) wrote:Big Phil is potentially great. To be honest, i have never been a fan of Big Phil , but he has been playing out of his skin for the past few weeks. You know what you are going to get with him, he wears his heart on his sleeve and gives 100 percent and seems a nice bloke. I have alot more respect for him than the majority of the side who played at OT in the cup and pranced about the pitch for 90 minutes not giving two shits.
