Agreed on both counts. I just want Gallas to focus on doing what he's done well for most of this season, defending and leading, and not play up to stereotypes about petulant Frenchmen.donaldo wrote:I wont disagree that Gallas "lost it" But for the BBC to connect the Gallas kick on Nani with the "tackle" that may have ended a players career is unforgivable.
I believe Wenger making Gallas captain was a masterstroke. The team spirit under Gallas as captain has been excellent this season. Gallas hates losing.I would rather a bad winner than a good loser as captain

I don't think Gallas should have behaved like he did, but he definitely had a point. On an already emotional afternoon, to get robbed by that 'penalty' was almost too much to bear. I was at Shite Hart Lane and Old Trafford for both of our recent capitulations, but didn't feel anywhere near as depressed afterward as I did standing at St. Andrew's on Saturday. In fact I'm not sure I've felt that down after a game since the Champions League Final!
So I can understand where the G man was coming from, but I was still pissed off to see him by the opposite corner flag in the run up to the pen. If almunia had saved the first effort and brum had scored on the rebound, some serious questions would have to be asked. Fine, kick and scream and shout when the pen's gone in, but while it's still 2-1 he should've been fighting to the death for the slim hope of keeping it that way.

I want to agree that Gallas's performance was down to sheer frustration, but I dont think I can.
How did Clichy feel about his antics. If it was Gael he was peed off with then that threatens the great team spirit.
A lot will depend, for me, on how he explains his actions, probably in this weeks programme, or if he is interviewed during the week.
All said and done, the game should have been wrapped up long before injury time but "that's football". As a "sweaty" I was doubley perplexed as McFadden is something of a national hero of mine!
Like everyone else I was gutted for Eduardo. He is a totally honest player and I just hope he gets back playing as soon as.
Lets get behind the lads big time on Saturday, and get this party back on track.
Come on you reds!!
