No Longer Tottering Hotspurs (29/02)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

'got themselves a top coach' - explain to me how exactly how he is a top coach, the bloke cannot hold down a job for longer than a couple of years and has won nothing more than two bob cups (copa del rey in spain is more of a joke than the league cup here)

'imagine how hard its been for them' - f**cking good, i hope they suffer at the hands of their pony football club for the rest of their miserable lives.

'i do not hate spurs' - and you claim to be Arsenal. A hatred of Spurs is something that is in the blood of an Arsenal supporter, your telling me that when you hear 30,000 of the c*nts sing peado songs to Wenger you feel no hatred whatsoever, because personally i want to give every single one of them a proper f*cking shoeing and then some. I imagine your the sort of bloke who applauds when the other team scores a good goal.

Seriously i cannot beleive the attitudes of some of our 'supporters', its just not football, think you would be better following the rugby mate.
Well said, mate  I always thought that Copa del Rey was serious in Spain but after reading your post and checking the last winners and when Real Madrid and Barcelona last won it, I found out.

2007 Sevilla FC
2006 RCD Espanyol
2005 Real Betis
2004 Real Zaragoza
2003 RCD Mallorca
2002 Deportivo de La Coruña
2001 Real Zaragoza
2000 RCD Espanyol
1999 Valencia CF
1998 FC Barcelona
1997 FC Barcelona
1996 Atlético Madrid
1995 Deportivo de La Coruña
1994 Real Zaragoza
1993 Real Madrid

As you can see Real Madrid haven't won it for the last 14 years, Barcelona for the last 9 years. I always thought it was taken seriously in Spain. Seems only La Liga and Champions League is taken seriously by big clubs in Spain.

My hatred is more reserved for the Sp*rs fans than anything else. The author obviously didn't grow up in a Tot*enham area, like I did!

The author certainly brings back memories, some good but mostly bad.

I've hated Sp*rs since I was old enough to be capable of that emotion but for the time being at least the immediate targets of my hatred have become Birmingham City and a certain Thug called Taylor. Maybe if we win the league my heart will soften but Birmingham could be in pole position in this particular race for a very, very long time.

As for Sp*rs, I can't really deny they deserved to win last weekend - Berbatov's penalty was a masterpiece and it was great to know that Chelski have once again failed to buy the quadruple. Pity either side had to win.

As to 'standing up if you hate T*ttenham', well not me for tomorrow at least, as they are away to...Birmingham-bl**dy-City, so I actually 'would really love it' if they could win 6-0.

Birmingham 4 Tottenham 1

And the north Londoners’ resurgence continues. Next up, champion’s league final.

In 2008:

Played 7 Won 2 Drawn 2 Lost 3
Knocked out of FA Cup
Struggled to get past Slavia Prague in UEFA Cup
One more point for Arsenal and its St Totteringham's Day
....won Carling Cup - a competition that Arsene Wenger will have been pleased to have been knocked out of (albeit he wouldn't have wanted 1-5)

When the media jump on the "they've turned the corner" bandwagon it makes me laugh. They're just setting Spurs up for an even bigger reality check/slagging later in the season! But there is no excuse when one of our own fans joins in....
