eboue fit to wear the shirt ?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

So you're comparing Cygan to Eboue...???

...And still, the point is that Eboue isn't shit

Read what I wrote first before you make comments because you make yourself look stupid! I was saying that commenting on Cygan and saying he is shit doesn't make me less of a gooner. I also said Eboue was class but his attitude lets him down sometimes. I never said he was shit.

Read first then comment.

any bloke who flicks his wrist out at wayne bridge and "knocks him out" is fit to wear the shirt even if he didnt touch him, i remember db10 smashing his elbow into steve lomas' face and getting caught, eboue didnt touch bridge he is a cheating chelski cash grabber and eboue is a better player than senderos wil ever be, mr wenger shoould have played johan fromn the start in both games, especially the snarling cup final as we all know that swiss cygan cant handle drogba, want proof just watch the re runs of chelskis second goal, fo r fucks sake just SELL HIM

I have read the comments and noted many of you mentioning Lauren - who without doubt is an Arsenal legend.

However - I don't think any of us need reminding of some of his antics, two footed tackles (often), getting involved in rucks on the pitch (Ruud van shit himself ring any bells?) and not worried about putting himself in awkward positions for the good of the team.

For my money Eboue is like the younger brother of Lauren - they are both upright, attacking, explosive, energetic and passionate full backs who will do just about anything for the cause.

Just as Clichy has allowed us all to forget about Cole - Eboue has done the same job with Lauren's departure.

Ok he may have issues with temprement but which top footballers don't?

The subject matter was worth raising as clearly it has raised a debate but for me suggesting anything other than Eboue as one of the first names on the team sheet is madness.

Its not the agressive side of Eboue that bothers me its the play acting. I think its great to have a choppy defender thaat will ruffle the feathers of some quick footed wingers as it dents their condfidence (obviously if done within limits and not stupidly to result in excessive cards). Eboue is a great attacking player and one of the best crossers of the ball we have. I think he should take corners when he is playing on that note.

Anyway i digress, the point is he likes to dive. Also everytime he is involved in a cyncial foul he always does the same stupid belly flop oo i fell over routine! its so pathetic! everytime to try and avoid a yellow he's suddenly fall over arms outstretched, the referees must see it and even if they didn't see the incident they know to book him when he does that!! I've lsot count fo the times he's fouled someone, fallen over, got booked then is suddenly all better! muppet
