Bring Back Lehmann

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

did you watch the same game?

he well and truely kept us in it. he was not at fault for either goal,

1st was off and gallas should not have let him through anyway
and the 2nd was piss poor defending by toure

Hold on burnsey - while I am not going to go into overdrive right now about this defeat I have to ask how you can say almunia wasnt at fault for the 2nd goal :?:  My mother would have saved that shot for fcuks sake :x It is all very well defending the team on occasions but jesue christ dont defend the indefensible

Oh ffs, go back to 606 bring back pires, because you clearly don't know anything about football.

Its not like it was an absolute howler, Jesus he got his hand to the ball. Why do you keep ignoring all the saves he actually made? if it wasn't for him it could have been 4-1.

We don't need fans like you, so why not go and support Suds.

Maybe we have different standards, but if I was paying somebody 50K+ per week to be a professional goalkeeeper, then I'd fully expect the second goal to be saved.
I agree with you about Almunia he did could have done better today, but the defence let us down more. Drogba should not have been given that much space.. Lehamnn is not the answer though.

because drogba should never have been aloud the shot, toure should have won the ball, and it was fired at almunia from point blank range, in all honesty i think he did well to get anything on it.

he by no means cost us the game the damage was done before he could do anything, the goals in my opinion are the fault 1st of gallas 2nd of toure

I've been blindly optimistic about us winning the title all season, but there comes a time where enough is enough. Having spent thousands of pounds and travelled thousands of miles, only to see us fall apart at the latter stages, is obviously going to be frustrating. So head back to your prawn sandwiches in your corporate box and contact us again when we've won a trophy.

Sense at last. Our defense lost us that game today, NOT our keeper.

When Lehmann made many saves but made a costly error, everyone was on his case. But when Almunia does it, it's acceptable. My only question is: WHY?

Lol oh sorry I'm a prawn sandwich merchant? I was unaware that actually apportioning blame where it is deserved instead of ranting like an idiot means you sit in a corporate box.

How many more threads are you going to start blaming people?

And Lehmann never did this? As far as I'm aware his saves kept us unbeaten in the league for 47 games and sent us through to a Champions League final; the same match in which Almunia's mistakes cost us the trophy!

I'd not mention Lehmann and the CL final, because in case you were too busy trying to burn Wengers house down, Lehmann COST us the CL final.
