team for rest of season

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

lol....why, after Senderos almost single handedly sabotaged our CL campaign, would you want to install him as captain?

I love big Phil to bits as his desire and work rate for the Arsenal is superb, but seriously, enough is enough..he should never wear an Arsenal shirt again!

That's just the press for you though isn't it. They write utter bollocks most of the time anyway. It's like when a mangerial post comes up. All they do is think of somebody that is out of work and link them to it. They're just shitbags with nothing better to do.

I've been thinking about the mickey mousers and their win the other night. I really do hope they reach the final as well as you guys (you'll beat Barcelona no problem).
Moscow, Liverpool, Man Utd, Champions League Final! Put them all in a pot and you've got a pretty explosive combination!
Whoever loses that will NEVER live it down.

becuase as i said in another post this is the 1st shit game he has had since gettn in the side this season, and i dont think it a coincidence that he has been captain of every team he has played in

I would like to see Barazite given a little run in the first team. mabey against Derby. He is a kinda hleb type player. someone that is competent on the wings or just behind the striker.

Would like to see Hoyte given a run at right back. If he dosn't impress in the following games then it would be time to let him go.

Also it could be interesting to see Gilberto after a run in the team. I've been relatively impressed with the way he played recently, definatly a far cry from his mid season form. If he can get bit of form together before the season is out then he could be back to his world class self for next season. Failing that it would possiably attract a few potential buyers who thought he may of lost it.

Everything that happened over the 2 legs against liverpool, was at the end of the day...just part of the luck (or bad luck) that is part and parcel of football - from Bendtners goalline clearance from Cesc's goal bound effort; the ref not giving a penalty when Hleb was being hauled down; Ade's awful finishing when through on goal at Anfield; the refs decision to give a penalty against Toure, etc...

But, what Senderos did on the first Liverpool goal on Tuesday...just showed that the lad has no hope.

As the corner was being taken, and as it floated into our box, Senderos' eyes were firmly trained on Hyypia..and not on the ball.
- Now, this is a fundamental error that should have been irradicated though coaching while he was a schoolboy.

The fact that he isn't clever enough to realise that he has to watch the ball, even when marking a player, is quite frankly, unbelievable for a top premiership defender.
- therefore, without knowing where the ball was (or even if the corner had been taken!) he obviously was unable to react before Hyypia..and hence, Hyypia cou;dn't believe his luck at a completely free header sailed into the Arsenal net.

That's my interpretation of it anyway

this is no reflection on how the normal 11 have played but just think this would be a good oppertunity to really see wat some players have got after a run of games with no pressure

Yeah lets reward Senderos for his woeful performance at Anfield by making in captain.I thought April 1st was last week. What next Eboue as vice captain?

there is a lot of one rule for one player another rule for others with you lot.
toure has had a mare since returning from ACON yet we are supposed to give him benifit of the doubt, wether it was a pen or not, its still dreadfully shocking defending on his part, and has been for ages now, yet know one wants to *word censored* him off. perhaps some responsibility will sure him up

So we're gonna blame Senderos for everything then are we? For fucks sake get off the lads back. He wasn't the only one at fault the other night. For the second goal he got done by one of the best strikers in the World - oh the shame of it. :?

For the record, I'd bring Lehmann in for Sunday, along with Walcott and Bendtner, playing 2 up and really going for it.

You've got to appriciate Toure has been consistantly solid since he first came into the side as first choice CB in 2004 Burnsy. He has for me at least unwaivering support and I will never clamour for him to be dropped. Senderos has a few good games followed by a few bad. He needs a consistent level of excellent performances to attain that backing Toure has. Similarly players like Flams, Cesc, RvP I will always get behind in bad form as they have been giving everything and playing well for a period of time. Others such as Gallas, Ade and Hleb won't because whilst taleneted they have not played their way into my heart as someone like Number 5.

yeah...it was shocking by Toure.

Wenger must be pulling his hair out. All our centre backs are out of form at the same time..Gallas and especially Toure have been dodgy, yet the only other option is Senderos; so in many ways Wengers damned if does make changes, damned if he doesn't.

Oh well...I'm sure we'll find a Terry or Vidic one day to marshall our defence...in the mean time...better find ya shooting boots boys! 8)

he also has had no pressure on him to perform week in week out, by that imean he knows the position is his, perhaps if senderos had that he could relax an play his best football that we see we see more often than not. i know from my own experience(same position aswell, irelevant but hey) that when u are playing for your position you can overthink situations an make silly mistakes
