Eboue Saturday

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don't think I've ever booed an Arsenal player (though I did boo Edu when he came back for the DB friendly - I'll never forgive him for pissing off the way he did, after all he put the club through).

I completely agree players who try, regardless of skill and performance levels, shouldn't be booed at games (and yes, that includes Eboue). And of course, we should get behind our team.

But I'm not sure I'd say we should never boo Arsenal players. If Sinisa Mihajlovic played for Arsenal, I might need to have a pop at him, fucking racist, obnoxious bastard that he is. And what if a player started showing disrespect for us, the fans? Surely a bit of booing might be in order.

Bottom line, football belongs to us, not players, managers, directors, agents or journalists, and it's our right to criticise. If, in an extreme and deserving case, that means booing, so be it.

I'd never boo one of the arsenal players even eboue, i think hes a very good right back but utter shite as a winger, i'd be happy him staying as a back up for sagna next season.

Booing your own players is criminal. Whether you like the player or not he is playing for Arsenal and should be cheered onto the pitch. He did actually play well when he came on, maybe he is better as an impact player maybe not.

The only impact he makes is the Eboue Shaped Dent In Our Beloved Turf

kentgooner wrote:Hands up i booed Eboue during his warm up before the game and when he came on as a sub! Why? Because he's a lazy dirty useless cheating c**t that isn't fit to wear the shirt!! I've never booed a player before and hopefully never will again after Mr Wenger ships him off with silly Senderos. Now be honest with yourself people if he played for any other team you'd hate him!
One thing that sticks in my mind is our second goal away to milan, remember how theo ran down the wing and managed to stay on his feet to square it for ade barn door??? Now what would of Eboue done? The same?? Or roll around like he's been shot by a sniper demanding a red card humm..... the latter i think. The bloke is a c**t in my eyes and everyone around me thinks the same i'd happily have my season ticket price doubled than see him in the team.

So you'd boo him because he's not as good as Walcott? Interesting theory, you'd have hated Perry Groves and Gus Caesar and co.

Always remember Kevin Campbell getting the bird - big time - after he duffed up a chance even I could've scored (blindfolded, drunk and with both legs cut off) in an FA Cup match against...Millwall I think - might've been Bolton.

Eventually we lost that game 3-1 with the opposition scoring the 2nd and 3rd in extra time.

The point is that 'Super' Kev wouldn't have scored had all remaing players walked off the pitch. His confidence was already low, the team was playing pretty shite - this was in the dark days of 1994 - and the crowd was far more angst ridden than today. But by taking their frustration out on the one player that could have turned it around that night all they achieved was to ensure he would just keep digging his hole deeper and deeper.

I am the world's worst for slagging off players in the comfort of my own living room. But leave it there - paying £50 to watch a match doesn't give you the right to deliberately try to ruin someone's game - it is both self defeating and gives the other team's fans even more ammunition against you.

If at the game you can't say anything good, say nothing at all.

no they dont all give 100%,, we had had lots of players who werent so skillfull down the years but as gooners all we ask is that you put some heart in to it and be proud to wear the arsenal shirt
as for your claim that wenger wouldnt pick them unless they were giving 100%
well

if they did then no one would give out,,
and no i wouldnt boo an arsenal player at the game but eboue isnt good enough, doesnt give 100% is a cheat and dont want to see him in an arsenal shirt

Shit dick? You're a big brave boy. The idea of this forum is that fans can have a debate about Arsenal - if you want to just insult people with a different view then fuck off.
