A few poxy grand a week?

Our offer £55k

Milan's offer £50k after tax.

Hardly a few grand a week is it, likely double what we were offering.

And all this bitternes about him being a bench warmer etc. Having played one full year in his preferred position the guy has excelled. As long as Milan don't use him at Left Back it's fair to say he will get better and better.

I can see him joining the list of arsenal players that have got too big for their boots and ended up stunting their career like Anelka, i sure hope that's the case anyway

and we lost him over a few poxy grand a week

shame on you arsenal
agree 100%
Why would you want a player who cares more about money than the club?

By that logic, we should get rid of most, if not all of our squad then. Hate to break it to you, but that's the way it is in modern football. The likes of Tony Adams and Paolo Maldini are either long gone, or very, very rare.

What suprises me, is how bitter so many seem to be over Flamini leaving...as if anyone who wants to leave Arsenal must be doing so souly for the money...

yes, lets completely disregard the fact that he's joining one of the giants of world football...AC Milan!

I'm very disappointed that Flamini has gone, but at the same time, I do understand his decision.

Although, whether he should have dragged the inevitable out for so long, is a little disappointing..unless, of course, he really was giving Arsenal every chance to improve their offer.

I have to disagree on that. Compared to a lot of teams in the premeirship we don't spend that much on wages. I think the average is around th £35,000 mark (i may be slighty wrong but its not that far off). If it was the case of money we would be getting rid or 7/8 players a season.

I agree that football is a greedy trade, no doubt about it, most players are. And I also agree that loyalty is hard to find. But, not gone.

We are Arsenal. And we do not get held to ransom. Long may it continue.

and his performances have never been as good, Chelsea fans even preferred Wayne Bridge over him

Flamini is a warrior end of story. His game is all about energy and hassling the shit out of better skillful players and it is something he is very good at so credit it to him for that. However lets not kid ourselves that at 24 years of age he is going to either improve or for that matter go backwards - he is what he is and will never be a cesc or even a pirlo no matter what team or league he plays in.

A lot of fans feel bitter cos he walked after just one good season in midfield and after talking mucho shite about his friends and that family athmosphere at our club. The bitterness is about money in that most feel he left to get more of it and in doing so we as a club got none. Quite a few of us believe however that he will only be a squad player at milan and that it will then prove to be a bad bad career move for a player looking to establish himself as a top player.

I can see exactly the same happening to Flamini as it did to Petit when he went to Barcelona!

Why would he play for a club that does not acknowledge his capabilities and determination on the pitch? Also, he is moving to a bigger club for a far better wages...

Why Arsenal think that they'll be able to buy players on cheap, pay them fraction of what they could be getting elsewhere, charge supporters highest prices in the country and think that they wont be found out?

AFC 'pay structure' is something that we should get angry about, not Flamini's decision, which was perfectly reasonable one...
