Thought it would be interesting to get some actual Opta stats on Eboue this season to slate the guy properly but could only find he features in Setanta’s ‘Golden Shot’ league going 20 shots without scoring. What a sh*t head!

I did find out the Opta stats for 07/08 in the Guardian with some Arsenal stats though...

Arsenal scored 27 goals in the final 15 minutes of matches – more than any other side.

12 different nationalities scored for Arsenal –the most in the league.

Arsenal had the best passing accuracy, completing 83% of their passes.

Arsenal conceded the fewest headed goals (3) this season.

Cesc Fabregas has set up 17 goals this season – the third-highest tally of assists (Henry 20 in 2002-03, Lampard 18 in 2004-05) in a single Premier League campaign since 1996 when Opta began recording data.

Cesc Fabregas attempted the most passes (2526) and created the most chances (112).

Emmanuel Adebayor scored 24 goals in this his third Premier League season – the same number as Thierry Henry scored in his third league campaign with the Gunners.

Three of Arsenal's five domestic defeats occurred with Howard Webb as the referee.

Beware of the ''Webb'!!

I've hated the scumbag since his incompetent handling of the Chelski debacle in Cardiff

Whether its his shameful behaviour that's influencing everyone, or whether its just that people are feeding of each others negativity....I can't help think that the whole "Eboue is shit" is snowballing out of all perspective

He's hardly my favourite player... but apparently, according to the the author of this article, Eboue is our worst player since John Kosmina, 30yrs ago! well...sorry, but that's bollocks.

Unlike the majority on here, I do think Eboue's place in the team has been justified! I Look at our squad, and, for me, the only options we've had for most of the season at right midfield, have been Eboue and Walcott.

The injuries to Van Persie, Rosicky, and to a lesser extent, Diaby & Denilson, have limited our options in midfield; even Eduardo gave us an option wide left! These long term absentees have resulted in Hleb spending much of the season behind the striker, or even at left midfield; leaving Eboue and Walcott to fight over the right midfield position.

So...then the question is...Eboue or Walcott?

Now, i'm willing to accept that Walcott is starting to deliver...but are people really saying that Walcott should have been a regular, ahead of Eboue this season? I don't.

He may not influence us going forward as much as we'd like, but defensively, I thought Eboue and Sagna forged a fairly decent partnership on the right side (especially before January)

I just can't understand how people can question Wenger for saying Eboue gives us balance, when he clearly does!

The Parlour comparison is an obvious one, and at no point did Wenger say Eboue was better than Parlour...or anything of the sort!

I don't know...maybe its just me

Not just you.
It is me as well!

Start of season sometimes Helb and Sagna played on the rigth and it was a good partnership.

Hleb moved to left to cover Rosicky a times, or played up front behind Adebayor, and Eboue played right wing.

Many of us thought Eboue deserved a chance there, based on his forward runs from the right back position the previous season.

Cannot stand Eboue's diving, and now Walcott has reached a level where he is more effective than Eboue, a level he was NOT on a start of season.

As you say, Wenger is comparing a TYPE of player, not two individuals.
