How low can Utd go?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Tony Adams was so pissed after Anfield he slept on the steps of the main entrance at Highbury and he was our greatest captain ever.

I don't particularly like Chelsea but I find it hard to fathom how anyone would support a team whose stadium rings out "sit down you paedophile" to Wenger.

they're both corrupt debt ridden teams who buy success, I see no difference other than United play mostly more attractive football.

Rob

i wanted Chelsea to lose whoever they were playing. if you cant understand why Gooners wanted Man Utd to win, just shut your eyes and imagine that greedy little Crunt Cashley holding up the trophy grinning all over his face. no player has ever pissed on the great name of our club more than that tosser. And seeing that bully Terry in tears was the iceing on the cake

I don't get the obsession with Cole. He left, he's gone and he's history. he went for the $ and has stained his character in the process. F*ck him, he stepped down when he left Arsenal.

We've got Clichy now as he has adequtely replaced Coe.

just to clarify my own position on this. i definitely did not want utd to win.

however what i did want was for chelsea to lose more than i wanted utd to lose.

ergo, it was the best possible outcome of a nightmare scenario.

and the way it happened, with chavski fans thinking the trophy was theirs when JT of all people stepped up made it all the sweeter.

so all told not as bad a night as it could have been. who gives a f**k that utd won. sadly, one of them had to.

They way I see it is like this.....

Had we won in Paris 2 years ago we'd have matched Fergie's achievments in half the time with a fraction of the money. Had Chelsea won it mid-week we'd still be a a win from matching United and also Chelsea.

Now we are 2 wins behind Fergie, can you see us overcoming that in our life time, sadly I don't. They now have absolute bragging rights over su in this respect.

And for me that is painful to say given the easy path to the final United had.

can we win the CL twice under Wenger? Yes, I believe we can. With a weakened team we were done by poor officiating in the QFs. If we had a fit squad and competent refereeing, it can be done. keep the faith. :barscarf:

I think last Wednesday showed what a lottery the CL is. You can go all the way and be a kick away from winning it only to be under done by a slip as you take a pen!

We're never so lucky.

Robburne, I'd rather be 2 Champions Leagues behind Fergie and 3 behind Man United than 1 behind Chelsea!! If they became the first London team to win it they'd never let us live it down!!

Don't get me wrong, I hate the manc vermin and their blue nosed, Rab C Nesbitt twat of a manager but who gives a flying fuck. The geezer's team had just won the champions league so I think he's entitled to a glass or two and I for one woud be ecstatic to see AW supping a glass or six at a press conference after a champions league win. By all means slag the blue nosed, Buckfast drinking old twat for being a hypocritical, whining old jakey but for celebrating a trophy win?? Nah, get over it mate.

Indeed we can, just needs tweaking, Ben Arfa and Nasri are supposed to have signed already, last season refs did us over, denied a penalty and in the second leg we gave away one of the worst penalties i've ever seen, to say it was a soft penalty would be over the top, Toure hardly touched babel, OK he got the wrong side of him and nudged him slightly but would that be enough to make you fall over? And there was even less contact with that anfield pnealty than at AG, refs are officially wankers, as is babel and torres, diving *word censored*, they got the rub of the green in that game, as in 2004 I think it was when baros' shot wasn't over the line but it was given, *word censored*.

Toure was trying to get a piggy back on someone running quickly past him, it was a foul

What's the problem? That he was drinking? He can drink what he likes. If he was drunk then that is another matter

Much as i dislike him, he is entitled to celebrate however he wishes (within legality).

Anyone going on about the Arsenal class only need hear of the stories of Alan hudson, Malcolm Macdonald, Tony Adams, Perry Groves, Paul merson, George Graham.

sometimes the self righteousness on this board becomes cringeworthy.
