Hleb for Yaya

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I can see the wisdom in that line of thought 8)
So let me get this straight: you're willing to sacrifice the signing of a player that would undoubtedly strengthen our squad and could potentially replace and be better than Flamini, and maybe be the key to us winning silverware, because he might have to go off to represent his country for 4 weeks every 2 years? :? Run that one by me again? :duh:

I'd like to bang Rachel louder and more frequently than the shithouse door in Mrgnu's house. :dancingbanana:

Augie,

It was more a response to biglunn's comment. I used your quote with his view in it because I wanted to question if indeed there was 'wisdom in that line of thought.' I for one don't think there is.

P.S. I wrote that the ANC was for 4 weeks every 2 years, not every 4 years. :banghead:

Does anyone actually know why Yaya isn't an Arsenal player anyway?

Wenger was talking about Yaya on Arsenal.com a month or 2 back, but it was only available to the subcribers, and no news agency or website seemed to report the story

Is it because we couldn't get a work permit? would Yaya not join us because we turned him down while on trial? or does Wenger simply not want him? :?
- or more to the point, considering Yaya was a regular at Barca last season, do we even know anything to suggest they want to sell him?

For the queries i've mentioned above, I doubt that Yaya is even being considered in the Hleb transfer saga.

In any case, a Barca player moving to the Arsenal would almost certainly have to consider a hefty wage reduction, and as Flamini, Cashley, and Nasri seem to prove...not many players are willing to make such a "sacrifice"

Considering we paid what, 10 million for hleb, to get 12 for him seems like we're getting short changed. does anyone think we could hold out for more?

Honestly mate if we get 12m for an attacking midfielder that has scored 10 goals in over 120 starts + approx 30 sub appearances that I'll be more than delighted :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
