Samir Nasri

I am a little worried for French football at the moment. Their U21's are awful, behind Wales and Romania in their Euro group and thrashed in Toulon tournament including going 3-1 up only to lose 5-3 in their opening game with a skilled Chile. The U17's were the best team of the tournament but lost the Euro final to Spain, a record 4-0 defeat, something probably not helped by inspirational midfielder Fofana being moved into defence.

Going forward, they are fine, good strikers, good wingers, like to have muscle in the centre, strikers could be more clinical but that should come in time. Defensively, they are all over the place, neither of the first choice keepers inspires confidence (though the U21's have changed keeper I believe), the defenders do not seem to know the basics like marking, tackling, not giving ball away in silly area's. If they can not defend, France may suffer a barren time

Magic

Instead of worrying about French football worry about who WE will be buying for next season.Worry about when Wenger is going to buy a CH,a Winger and a Striker.France have players like Benzama,Clichy and Sanga to come into their team. They will still be better than England :banghead:

I hear that the deal depends entirely on whether or not Ben Arfa signs for Marseille, which is said to be imminent. Make of that what you will.

I'm sure i would be shot for starting another nasri thread, so i will just post it here.

Marseille have just had their Ben Arfa bid accepted from Lyon.

This should mean the nasri deal will be wrapped up soon.

Apparently Ben Arfa is injered and hasn't been able to pass the medical. And as he is Nasri's replacement, they obviousally wouldn't want to finalise the nasri deal until ben arfa can be confirmed.

With the piece of the puzzle the picture as to why the nasri deal is dragging on finally becomes clear. i think

Our U21's do look set to qualify from our group and our U17's didn't do too badly two years ago. If the young French sides can add defenders then yes, they will be better as their attack is considerably better then ours

I can care about more then one thing at a time.

I would say it is VERY relevant to Arsenal too , how well the French under 21 and under 19 sides do, seeing as Wenger buys so many younger French players.

read that on a few blogs,, seems that marseille want the money on july 1 so it goes into next years accounts because the french fa have laws regarding how much money you have in the bank before they give yu a licence for the season,,
chelsea would be fucked if that happened in england

Jeezus....I had to venture half way down page 2 to find the most recent Nasri thread! this lad really seems to have fallen out of favour around here

Anyway, my reason for posting......

It is now July 1st; the date that we are led to believe that the Nasri transfer will be concluded. To refresh....reports suggested that the deal was completed days ago, but Marseille wanted the conclusion of the transfer delayed until July 1st so it will show up on next years accounts.

I wait with bated breath...... :anyminute:
