Gilberto's departure announced on Arsenal.com

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He was the true definition of a Professional.

I hope he goes on to win some more trophies to add to his collection.

Best of luck Gilberto , you represent what is still good and honest about the beautifull game . It was a honour to have you in our club and i hope you feel the same . You were a integral part of the invicibles and history shall remember you as such .

An awesome player who was very loyal for a modern day footballer.

I'll never forget when I met him at Amsterdam Airport in '05. He was so friendly and made my day that day!

Good luck Gilb.

Would love to get drawn in champs lge group with panathanikos and barca next season so we can show the contrast in receptions our old players will get - bert would receive a warm welcome back while hleb will feel the wrath of over 50,000 gooners who will def make more noise than the london traffic he is so adverse to

Brilliant player for us, probably right that he moved as having a Cesc-Gilberto partnership was going to make us lightweight and his international career wouldn't be helped by being on the bench another season
