Crowd trouble at the Grove against Hull

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Get the Hull fans out if they misbehave.

The stewards are quick to chuck out our own fans for too slight an offence.

There needs to be a review of stewarding at the stadium, it is not working well from what I can see.
the stewards are a joke as is the policy at the grove

Maybe not the stewards, but the club? Definitely! For all the security around membership cards the club are still obviously issuing a huge number of paper tickets for games. There is no way the touts are going to mess around selling a match and then collecting the card back....

And I'm sure a lot of you remember the number of Liverpool fans behind the goal for the CL game at the Grove last season. They might not have been there for trouble, but they didn't show much respect by unbridled celebration. I've no problem with away fans sitting in with the home fans (as I've done myself many times) but you do have to show respect!!!

They have worked out a way round that though , so I believe. Have some one inside of the stadium to collect the cards.

It's easy isn't it?

BAN EVERYONE WHO DID WHAT THE MEMBERS WHO GAVE THEIR HOME TICKETS TO AWAY SUPPORT. END OF!

You have to set a standard and if these two gimps get away with it then it'll never stop. come on Arsenal, sort it out!

If we really want the club to stop people from using other peoples membership cards, then the 'For Sale & Wanted' section of this site will be pretty quiet  The hightened security checks would not only stop away fans from getting into the home section but it would also stop home fans from doing the same.

You might find thid interesting....

I was at the San Siro last week watching AC Milan vs Lazio, and they have a very strict ticketing system....

Firstly, to buy tickets you either need a membership card (Rossenero card) which is equivalent to a Silver membership, I suppose... or for people like me, I had to take my passport to the ticket office in Milan, and they would print my ticket with my name on it, there and then.

At the match.....

At each gate, you are met by a steward. He checks your ticket, and then you need to show your identification to prove that you are the the same person as printed on the ticket...

With this accepted, the steward then runs his hand held metal detector over you from head to toe, and takes any bottle tops of your plastic drinks bottle, etc.

Then you are allowed to the electronic turnstile. Like at the Grove, your ticket is electronically read, and if your ticket is valid... you are allowed into fortress San Siro!

Lots of queues, long winded... but every supporter went through the same procedures and checks, so it must be a bugger for touts to get round that system!

As for the two arseholes getting slapped; this is a dodgy subject for me. I despise hooliganism and any crunt that is involved in that mindless shit.

BUT I also believe if some arsehole is going to get in the home end and start trouble, celebrating is ok by me, that's different, but if they are actively trying to start a row and looking for a dig then they should be given a good fucking dig. 8)

If you are going to act like a geebag then you deserve to get slapped like a geebag.

So well done whoever planted those two fuckwads... 8)

Fair play to the stewards - every time I've seen this happen so far at the grove, the away fan who recieves the slapping is allowed to stay and the gooner is arrested :banghead:

sOMETHING like that happened at milan and villa, didn't it. Don't like fighting, but if they want it, they can FUCKING WELL HAVE IT.

AS for the touts, 88's suggestion might not work time wise, but if it does I'm all for it. Can I use my Oyster?

Maybe because the away fans in question are possibly putting themselves in danger by doing such a thing.

Or maybe it is because it is not the done thing to have opposing fans in your part of the ground.

The taking of ends is obviously alive and well at The Grove  :(

As has been mentioned before the people who STH in those seats should be penalised for selling them to disreputable touts. We all know ways to sell on our tickets, we all have mates who want one surely? And if the very worst happens there is always ticket exchange.
