We're selling a bloke who evidently couldn't be bothered last season and other than a few moments of magic really didn't contribute to the level required and didn't fit in with our style of play because he stopped just getting in the box and tried to join in the build up and slowed it down all the time. It would have been the same story this season and it will be even more the same story when he doubles his money at Man City. As I said Bendtner scored almost as many goals with many less starts.

You can be paranoid about what may happen to the money, I think the club realise that the situation with the fans has changed and that if that money doesn't get spent there will be a real problem if things don't go right. At least it will give us a chance of getting the right players in, there wasn't one before.
Spot on.

If the club gets 25M then you would hope it would be reinvested into midfield.

Your opening comment sums it up for me, there really isnt the despiration to replace a player that scored 10 goals in the league and contributed so little to open play, we are not replacing an influencial player (based on last year) we are replacing someone who was gone 12 months ago so we start at the same point.
But last season was not good for strikers on a whole in the premier league.

It's a shame he got hounded out of the club but not for his feelings as I think he's a c**t but for the fact that fan power has worked now and I hope it's not gonna be a trend that continues where the crowd get on players backs for less reasons then they did with Adebayor hence forcing them out of the club, that would be a shame.
We pay the highest ticket prices in the world and when one of our players on £80k a week blatantly has not been putting it in are we supossed to sit back and take it.We have every right to voice our opinion. These players are all multi-millionaires if they cant take the abuse dont take the money. And remember is yours and my money. At least we wont have to hear that fucking song anymore

augie well said :barscarf:

I totally agree with most comments that I have read on this thread

However my opinion is, Arsenal will not get rid of him (although the fact remains that a good proportion of fans are happy to see him go). AW is an intelligent man. Why therefore can he not see the damage this player is doing to the club and the youngsters?

This player is not fit to wear the Arsenal shirt!

Donaldo - I agree that he deserved what he got, have no sympathy, all I'm hoping is that it doesn't infect the club where Vela starts getting destroyed if he has a bad game or 5 (for example)

thewilsonboy - So what, it's not down to the strikers in the PL to make him put in a stint, that's no excuse.

Yeh i know what you mean.

What I was trying to say is that we definitely need to replace him and people are wrong when they say that we don't and that players like Vela and Bendtner can replace him.

I am finding it hard to play devils advocate with a player i wouldn't mind seeing the back of.

i cannit wait man i cannit wait :-P

this will be the best news all summer, eddie robin bendy boy vela walcott arshavin all will be out on the piss tonight getting the cola's in to celebrate!!

we wont be booing vela or andrei or eddie because they can actually go past people, will chase down lost balls in the hope of winning it back and will use the great teammates around them instead of donkeying it over the bar. they touch the ball with skill unlike this oaf whos been skating across my pitch since highbury.

i am so happy right now, its only a matter of time... :barscarf:

Vela will not get destroyed because he hasnt held the club to ransom unlike Greedy did last summer
Sadly Greedy is getting rewarded for a shit season by doubling his money again :banghead: ,but at least we are not paying for it
