Theo put in at least 5 balls into goal scoring positions today, his movement was superb, and its no coincedence that he got in those positions time and time again its because he MADE the space. I dont believe he is a world class player, but i really believe he has the potential, the amount people get on his back is unbelieveable, compared to other players in our team. I just think you need to analyse his performance as a whole, and actually watch what he contributes to the match. Not just judging him by his crossing ability, which as it happens was at times today superb, and awful

Right, I've been arguing with my mate who unfortunately supports the spuds, that there is no better gain to winning the carling cup that there is winning the Emirates cup.

He thinks im talking bollocks but i'm standing my ground because i know the carling cup is a 'competitive cup' but it no longer gets you into europe and all teams near top of the league put out reserves sides and so do the clubs down the bottom as survival is rightly more important.

Whats your opinions on it?

League Cup > Emirates Cup.

It features every league team and has a greater prize fund. Plus you get a day out at Wembley.

so for teams in championship its a good competition but i honestly dont look at it being anymore worthy of a friendly cup.

Was at the game again. Saw very little to inspire confidence for the upcoming season. Did our best to throw it away yet again, flashbacks of Wigan away. It seemed as though we were no longer content to throw away a 2 goal lead, now we were trying our best to throw away 3. Theo, God help us, was useless again. Crossing was so off, Chamakh will start getting the hump if it doesnt improve. May as well have played with 10 men or put Gunnersaurus on instead. Jack outstanding again, would have loved that volley of his which hit the bar to go in. Woulda been a sweet goal.

To conclude, better teams will do us over if we continue to switch off after scoring a couple. Had it not been for Samaras ballooning a penalty out onto Holloway Road we would have looked like right mugs.

Yes on 2 occasions he made the wrong decision, but fuck me what player didnt. Its a pre-season friendly all about getting match sharpness, and Walcott for the first 70 minutes looked very very sharp

Winning the Carling Cup is infinitely better than winning a meaningless pre-season tournament.

Who made the League Cup a worthless cup? It certainly wasn't years ago.

It was Wenger who started the trend of playing no first team players. Others followed after him.
