To be fair to the critics, you were sitting there with a horse's visor over your head.mcdowell42 wrote:Number 5 wrote:So basically it has not yet been determined if he is injured or not.
But we’re ranting and raving much like after the league cup final when he was supposedly going to be out for a long time. But wasn’t.
Van Persie currently leads our goalscorers on 11 for the league and 15 overall. He also has 5 assists. And the solution to our woes is to sell him?
Now I don’t confuse very easily but this shit has me stumped.
Wouldn’t the better option be to keep him as clearly he is a very valuable player and still invest in another top class striker instead?
Compare the supposed £80k per week contract he has to that of Bendtner on £50k per week and this mother thinks Van Persie is a god damned bargain. Even for half a season.
Exactly but when i mentioned something similiar in earlier post was told i had a blinkered view

Are you that rich Number 5? Wanna bet on Almunia not making any mistakes 'till the end of the season?![]()
He seems to injure a different part of his body for an extended time. And as I’m sure DB10, a man who has suffered an injury to all 206 bones in the human body, will testify sometimes your just unlucky at sports.
But no. The book is closed on Almunia.
TBF to DB he has broken his bones so many times in so many places that he technically now has 870 bones in his body so has a far higher risk of another breakage when he enters the field of play.....climbs into bed, sneazes, farts, swallowsetc etc

I know what you're getting at Frenchie and I have no qualms about RVP's talent and contribution WHEN fit, but what other club what have put up with RVP's injury record over the years, since he joined us... no wonder he's showing us loyalty, he's getting paid to sit in the stands or laying on the treatment table for half the year.FrenchGun wrote:No no it's ok Frank I didn't take it personnaly!franksav63 wrote:I think you're getting the wrong end of the stick Frenchie, the only reason that I and perhaps Mikey would like RVP to quit international football is because of his poor injury record. A few times, he has been injured on international duty meaning that he has missed huge chunks of the season, it would surely be beneficial to him and to us (The Arsenal) who pay his wages, that he stepped back and thought.... I must cut down on playing time.... I wonder how I could do this...... Then perhaps, just perhaps he would show some loyalty to the club that pays his wages, when he is fit and injured, and just quit international football, hence, cutting down on the chances that he could be (would be) injured...FrenchGun wrote:Yeah maybe he should just fuck off back to holland, and maybe Nasri should fuck off back to France and Cesc should fuck off back to spain. Some of us really need to take their Arsenal Goggles off sometimes. First of all it was not a friendly game it was a qualification game for 2012 Euro.
As for the "If he loves Arsenal he should retire from international football"...![]()

Have you got no spine? Maybe you have your own issues with your country and origins but most of us are proud of their origins and would be honored to wear the colors of their country!
I totally agree that considering his injury record, RVP should never play any kind of useless friendly game. But for an official game he's got every right to defend his colors and his homeland.
in that case let him fuck off back to Holland.
I don’t want a striker that gets injured every year. Sometimes at cost of playing for Holland.
I fucking hate the England squad so I really don’t give a fuck about Holland or any other country for that matter
Arsenal come first end of.
You have your own issues with your national squad, and you don't give a fuck about holland or any other country, fine, but please show some respect and don't start insulting a player because he doesn't share your hate for his national side.
As I said I actually agree that RVP should never ever play any friendly again, as it's useless. His ankle injury made by Chiellini that took him out for most of the season was made during a friendly game and this, I agree, I find totally unacceptable.
As for RVP's loyalty towards the club, I don't see many players today that are as loyal as RVP towards Arsenal. The guy has always told he loved Arsenal, he's never made any fuss about signing a new contract, when he's on the pitch he always give 100%.
THere's tons of player in our side now days that are worse than RVP, that have their wages payed by Arsenal and it fans, that are far more lucky with injury than RVP, but they still don't put the slightest effort.
If RVP had been a racehorse, he'd been put down a few years back... (and would have probably been one of Rebel's tips)

King at scum. Hargreaves at Manure - if Van Persie's made of glass, Hargreaves is made of sand. Over the last 3 or 4 seasons VP's supposedly played as many league games as Essien.franksav63 wrote:I know what you're getting at Frenchie and I have no qualms about RVP's talent and contribution WHEN fit, but what other club what have put up with RVP's injury record over the years, since he joined us... no wonder he's showing us loyalty, he's getting paid to sit in the stands or laying on the treatment table for half the year.

Not suggesting that makes the situation acceptable, but I don't think this is another Arsenal-specific thing.
Problem isn't that we should've got rid of him, it's just that we shouldn’t be so reliant on him. We could probably get £10-£15m for Bendtner

We can all comment on what we would do but sadly nothing will change.
Next season we wont sign a keeper and we will get another 2-3 months out of RVP again.
We will shout at Barry for being so shit and Cham will make some nice runs, try his hardest and score a good hand full of headers and tap ins.
As long as RVP keeps giving the boss cuddles and fun times in the hot tub he will be first choice even when injured. The reason we don’t sign anyone is because Wenger loves RVP so much
In an ideal world I would love a new striker brought in to challenge RVP but it wont happen.

You know, I was wondering why AW wouldn't sign another striker, but now I know. It's because he's involved in a romantic relationship with RvP. Obviously.mikeyb772001 wrote:We can all comment on what we would do but sadly nothing will change.

Did you see the father like cuddle on the touch line against Barca?

If he suddenly starts sporting a centre parting, we'll know for sure. Its Up 4 Grabs Now wrote:Maybe those grey hairs around Robin's temples aren't his own. Be careful Number 5, it could be an April's fool made by .com! Would be pretty twisted, i agree, but nothing will ever suprise me anymore coming from the official.com since the Eboué "Pass-master" article...Number 5 wrote:http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archiv ... -blackburn
