Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Or this one I posted on the Samba thread
Anyway, it's June 2nd, deadline day has passed so we can forget about Samba, Benzema, E'to etc. We will sign another French defender if we're lucky :banghead:

Arsenal could make a shock move for striker Jermain Defoe, who has become a peripheral figure at Tottenham.
Full story: Daily Star

TBH, winna happen but wouldna be against it

Ohhh yes, let's buy a striker who scored only four goals this year and that Spurs fans want to get rid of.

To be fair I always thought he was a pacy explosive striker which is exactly the type of striker we lack as it goes. Buying him from the scum wouldnt unduly concern me either but I do think that he is too far down the chav road to have any hope of getting him back on track

I'd have him tomorrow. Proven goalscorer who needs to be playing regularly.

Give him the chances we make and Defoe would be a 20 goal + a season striker. If we could get him for less than 10m it would be a decent deal. Another guy who is a Gooner as well.

I know for a lot of you what I'm about to say will come as nothing new. But I still "believe" more than most so please understand my feelings of depression that the only transfer rumours involving us seem to be good players wanting away.....

And any that involve players coming here are either 17 year old's or obvious press speculation.

I actually thought that things might change this summer - and maybe they still will.....

But it really pisses me off that after all these years in the Champions League and with 60,000 every home game we still look and act like a two bob club like Villa or Spuds. If United really are interested in Nasri we should be telling them to go fuck themselves. No-one can tell me that we're not in a better financial state than that lot!

I still believe in Wenger.....but Arsenal need to start acting like one of the top clubs in Europe rather than just charging as if we were!

If that old c**t doesn’t sign anyone I would happily get a ban from Arsenal and throw a brick at his fucking face!

Typical of the younger generation resorting to using tools in this case a brick. What ever happened the Old School straightener .

I really think you should refrain from this violent streak in you ,your becoming as feared as the Krays once were over the Arsenal .

My google search of "Marco Silva" through up some varied results.

But Gervinho is very much a Wenger type of player, and has been in good form lately.

That will soon be knocked out of him if he signs for us.
