Thought so mateDan_85 wrote:They are some of the most fanatical & passionate. Off the top of my head maybe only Dynamo Dresden can match them for passion & sheer numbers & they're in the league below. Bayern, Schalke & the like do travel well but I'd compare them a bit more to Chelsea or Utd - tourists, fairweather fans etc, whereas Dortmund are a real "working class" club.flash gunner wrote:Do Dortmund have more fanatical supporters in Germany than other teams? Beware the Germans are coming

I wouldn't say more fanatic, but definitely more faithful and passionate. Without doubt the best away support in Germany (probably the best in Europe) in terms of sheer numbers. There are usually 5000-8000 around for most Bundesliga away matches, with some special exceptions like Berlin (10-15000).flash gunner wrote:Do Dortmund have more fanatical supporters in Germany than other teams? We brought 10000 to Paris last season and excitement for London is so high because flights are rather cheap and it's a great travel destination anyways, even without tickets for the game.

We fill out our allocation everywhere we go...GermanBlue wrote:I wouldn't say more fanatic, but definitely more faithful and passionate. ...I'd be interested to see how many we would take if we didn't have limits.
How does the Bundesliga system work for away fans? Can you just get tickets anywhere like in Spain?

Well, one good thing in Germany is that away fans get 10% of the capacity, not only 5% like in the CL (I guess it's 5% in the Prem, too?!).SWLGooner wrote:We fill out our allocation everywhere we go...

Tickets are mostly sold online, directly via the clubs. However, you have to keep in mind that Bundesliga stadiums are bigger than most of their British counterparts. That makes it much easier for away fans to grab tickets for home areas.
An imortant point is that most clubs rarely sell all tickets to members only, no matter how high demand is (no surprise, though with only 4 Bundesliga clubs having more than 50,000 members). Even for the "big games", most clubs sell a high amount to non-members. Away fans happily grab these tickets...Dortmund fans f.e. usually buy lots of tickets from the home allocation.
