Ive just read a Bio about ol'twitcher in a newspaper and I didnt realise that he had all but given up on Bale as a full back and was about to send him out on loan to Forrest when an injury pile up forced his hand to hold on to Bale and move him up onto the wings. The rest they say is history, but its funny how the medias darling was credited with turning around the chimps fortunes when clearly it was nothing of the sort but just fate that intervened.

yeah, i just read that - at 4 years, harry is their longest serving manager since Venables in 1991.

its typical spuds mentality though - get in the top 5 once and you're title contenders the next year, and when you don't win sack the manager; then get in the CL once and you're REALLY title challengers the next year, and when you don't win or qualify, sack the manager. again.
