As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Far to negative on here, we played very well today. We played a winger upfront and a usless chamakh second half. We made our subs alot earlier than city and threw on alot of youngsters.
Augero plyed 88 mins and tevez 75.
Chamakh is our most experienced and proven goalscorer. Don't call him useless
Trying to figure out Red Member is like trying to work out who the Zodiac Killer was/is. That said, I've got it down to;
1) He's a wumming genius who is exceptionally skillful at showcasing the ridiculousness of hyperbole in modern football fans.
Or
2) He's an attention seeking fool who sees writing anything (whether it contradicts what he's previously written or not) that gets an aggressive reaction out of people as his idea of a good time.
It's interesting because in both scenarios he's a WUM, but if 1 is true then I'm happy for him to stay on the forum, but if 2 is closer to the truth, then I've seen people on this forum get banned for less.
prepare youselves folks. this is going to be the worst team youve seen in some time. champions league qualification is far beyond this team. 6th place at best. zzzzzz
I was thinking earlier about what a privilege it must have been for the youngsters a decade or so ago to go on pre-season with the likes of Henry, Bergkamp, Pires etc.
What world class players do the likes of Aneke, Yennaris, Eisfeld have to look up to & learn from? You know, real top level winners... Chamakh? Santos? Song? Fuck me, we're doomed...
so song and diaby got outplayed or outmuscled by two rookies, one a trialist ?
this tour is a disaster from a footballing sense.
that's really going to boost confidence and cohesian isn't it ? - getting beaten by a second string city side, without our strike force even in the same continent.
on the performance…
It was lively and both teams tried to play. I think we were quite dominant in the first half but suddenly found ourselves down 2-0 against the run of play. I feel Manchester City played on a very solid defence with five real defenders and we played forward without calculating too much. We were a bit vulnerable on the counter-attack and that is where we got caught. But overall what is important for us is to see everybody play and give everybody competition. We lasted 90 minutes at quite a good level.
on Van Persie's situation…
We could come back forever on Van Persie. We have our main strikers at home and Van Persie is one of them. But we have Podolski and Giroud who are at home, so we have plenty of strikers. For us at the moment it is to prepare for the season - it is more than any individual player.
on Nuri Sahin rumours…
We did not sign anybody today, this report is wrong. We are not signing anybody at the moment - we are not close. In the future you never know.
on his message to Chinese fans…
I would personally like to thank them because they were absolutely outstanding. I would love to book a few 747s and bring them all to the Emirates! They have been outstanding throughout our whole stay. They have been better than our team!
so we 'competed' for 90 minutes and lost 2-0, we didn't take any of our main strikers, and we are crap i admit it but hey the fans were GREAT.....
oh, and Diaby - of who a week ago he said this tour was 'crucial' for, was taken off at halftime. injured again or just shite ?

friendly or not, wengers words always make me ill...the entrenched bastid!!...yeah 90 mins whatever... i am only interested in 4th spot so i can sustain my 7.5 mil and keep my boardmates loaded...give me happy asian daytrippers over proper angry old skool gooners...they remember the club before i took over and gradually soiled its name...wenger out

I fucking bet! Gazidis too! What a cringeworthy and tbh, pretty disrespectful thing to say. How about those of us who trek to northern shitholes in the pissing rain on a Wednesday night without fail, or all across Europe to watch tepid, pathetic performances as we get turned over time & time again?
Fuck that. Of course they'd rather fill the spacebowl with this Beijing lot who'd spend hundreds in the armoury & kiss the ground Wenger walks on
And I also never understand the "oh, it's only a friendly line" So because it's a friendly we shouldn't look to learn anything from it? What's the point of playing em then? Why should we excuse & ignore the fact that defensively & tactically we are clueless simply because it's a friendly?
chesney = crap (did you not watch the euros?)
wilshere who's he?
podolski = fading star, unproven in PL
giroud = french reserve player, unproven in PL
sagna = injured?
Koscielny = ok fair enough but he is not going to scare the top teams

I can understand a bit of arse-licking but it really fucks me off when people suggest that fans living in Asia etc are absolutely fanatical. I know a hell of a lot of Gooners (and indeed general football fans) that spend sums that they can barely afford and would be wiser spent elsewhere to watch their beloved team play, whether that means making a few games a season or going to every game home and away domestic and European. People that buy replica shirts and will turn up if there's an exhibition match nearby are nothing in comparison to real fans who spunk away ridiculous amounts of money, time and emotion into supporting a club because it's their fucking club, not because of the marketing or whatever.
