RIP Nina Bawden

Nina Bawden CBE (19 January 1925 – 22 August 2012) was a British novelist and children's writer. She was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1987 and the Lost Man Booker Prize in 2010.

RIP Paul Ch'eng Shih-kuang

Paul Ch'eng Shih-kuang (September 15, 1915 - August 23, 2012) was a Taiwanese prelate of the Roman Catholic Church.
Paul Ch'eng Shih-kuang was born in Hsiao-Yi, Taiwan, in the fall of 1915, ordained a priest June 29, 1943. Paul was appointed an Auxiliary Bishop for the Taipei Archdiocese on May 3, 1960 as well as Titular Bishop of Uccula and ordained bishop on July 25, 1960. He was appointed bishop of Diocese of Tainan on June 7, 1966, and remained in the position until his retirement December 3, 1990.

RIP Steve Van Buren

Stephen W. Van Buren (La Ceiba, Honduras, December 28, 1920 − August 23, 2012) was a professional American football halfback who played for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) from 1944–1951, and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1965.
He´s a two time NFL Champion (1948, 1949).

Just heard on radio the first man to set foot on the moon has passed away at the age of 82 yrs.

First man on the moon and all that.
A recent documentary revealed that it was only his superb piloting skills as they approached the Lunar surface that gave the U.S.A. their propaganda victory.
