It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.
You guys will never know how close we came to signing Goetze, just remember we got Eisfeld instead because of how much Dortmund wanted to keep the lad, but I am happy to have got the wrong name.
Zaha will be an Arsenal player deal is done
I say no more but remember to apologise to me when it happens.
And if or perhaps when you're wrong again what do we get in return?
Chelsea look like they will be signing Falcao. He is one amazing striker and it does not look like Abramovich has lost interst in them after they won the Champ League.
I think Man City and Chelsea should be put in their own Diamond Gold Premierleague and leave the rest of us to fight it out on a even level.
Failing that bring in Usmanov and start spending some of his cash but its all wrong really isnt it.

But haven't you heard? In 2 years time we'll be able to compete with everybody - Uncle Ivan says so, so it must be true. So we'll be competing with Europe's elite 8-9 years after the stadium move. Just like it said in the brochure as I recall i.e. "we are moving to compete with Europe's elite*"
* by the time 2014 comes around and we've properly fleeced you all
Arsenal are ready to offer Liverpool Theo Walcott plus £8m for Raheem Sterling. Contract talks between the Gunners and Walcott, 23, have stalled, while fellow England winger Sterling, 17, has 18 months left on his deal at Anfield.
Full story: the Sun
The Sun's about as reliable as Sammy when it comes to transfer rumours but I bet there are more than a few Gooners that would be happy with this. Personally I think it would be a massive backward step

I'd prefer to sell Walcott and use the cash for a LB. Wouldn't hate having Sterling, but just dont think we need him

Same as that - don't want to see us sign another young players for at least 2 more years and instead I want us to improve the quality of our first 11
Goetze was in talks Zaha is a done deal, you know the club won't say anything till Jan window is open.
I put my neck on the block with the former and lost my head...with the latter my head is to be stitched back on
Sammy I will hold my hands up and admit it........I kinda believed you back when you said that we were buying gotze I suppose a large part of my belief was based on the hope that the club/manager finally seen the need to buy quality but alas, as usual, we were let down
Quick question on this deal though sammy.......how much is he gonna cost us ? I want to know how much up front and if any players going the other way in exchange. I have serious serious reservations about this deal (if it goes ahead) - why are we continually tying up whatever transfer budget we have on unproven rookies who may or may not ever be good enough ? If he buys another winger then what does that say about the futures of miyaichi (who has impressed me on rare occasions I have seen him) and gnabry ? Are we now writing off the investment that has been made in them to date ? Are wingers the only players we buy these days ? So many questions but tbh there are no answers out there that will please me - I want us to buy a DM, a first choice left back, a keeper and a striker but most of all I want us to buy players that are proven quality right now cos the jam tomorrow plan has gone tits up a long long time ago
Resale value. If they're young and never really fulfil their promise we can still more or less recoup the transfer fee (as we will if we sell Feo). If they turn out to be class we can flog them 3 or 4 years later at a huge profit.
Absolutely spot on and that has been Wenker's m.o ever since buying Anelka for peanuts and selling him to make a training ground, the board were so impressed that he is now expected / allowed to indulge in these punts in the dark for "promising" youngsters in the hope / expectation that they will develop into world class players that we can flog in the near future....... but as we all know potential is not always realised.

Not convinced by his ability at the top level consistently but tbh I would agree with just about any "How about [insert name of remotely reasonable GK here] to challenge Szczesny?"

Heard he had a good game today against judas and his crew, have a look on MOTd, be interesting really not sure of any other great available keepers, cesear at qpr for a season or two as sure he will bale out when they are relegated!!!

That's the thing, one good game in a high-profile situation is enough to tide a keeper of a lower side over for months. He can go and let in a poor goal at Everton next week and people won't even notice. I'm reluctant to judge too much because I haven't seen him play often apart from against, from what I've seen he's pretty useful but about the standard I'd expect our number 2 to be.
"wenger is desperate to strenghten the goalkeeper position"????
so desperate its taken him 5 years to get around to it
Worse still it says that wenger wants 2 top class keepers........what's he chasing el habsi for then ? I get that the guy is better than mannone but he is nowhere near good enough
