3 massive points in a difficult game made more difficult with the sending off...

3 points next week will put us in a strong position with Chelsea vs Scum postponed...

the mythical 'shift' of Giroud today was sadly just that 'mythical'.the ref did more than him

Dug in when it mattered (just like at Sunderland), showed some great attributes out there and it's a pity we can't show the same will to win all the time.

It's just fucking annoying that we actually put ourselves in that position. All Long tried to do was run in behind all game and despite them having very little play in the first half he was still flagged off a few times, so it's shite to get caught too high and static by the inevitable ball over the top. And although we did well individually we just had no idea when we went down to 10 men - we just sat back really far and left Giroud on even though he was fucked when in Podolski we have the ideal player to bring on in that scenario.

Yeah, it is "simple as that" as long as he pulls off a stunning finish from a difficult position  Off balanced swivel shots with your back to goal from 20 yards aren't easy (and are more in Messi and RvP's skill set than Giroud, who often looks clumsy when attempting clever shots)...

Surely, under the circumstances, going to the corner flag was surely the right thing to do...? :?

Two good wins against a poor Reading side and a decent baggies outfit should see us easily qualify for the fourth-placed trophy.

Rosicky has done his customary one decent performance and will probably disappear again now but fuck it, looks like we're finishing the season well. :barscarf:

Good result, plenty of tough games left to play.

Yeah, Everton (h), Newcastle (a), Fulham (a) ManUre (h) and QPR (a) could be very tricky.

On paper, only Norwich (h) and Wigan (h) look relatively comfortable.

Fortunately, Sp*rs and Chelsea have some tough games as well... and they play each other, which helps!

Big win today! 8)

These are the sorts of games that you have to be winning regularly if you want to be up there challenging. The blockbuster ties are all well and good but the league is won at grounds like The Hawthorns, the Britannia and Carrow Road as much as it is at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford.

Looking at our away games a few weeks ago and we had Swansea, WBA, Fulham, QPR and Newcastle - no top teams in there so the potential to pick up plenty of points but equally not easy places to go and not inconceivable that we could only pick up a handful of points. These are the games that we tend to make a habit of winning when 4th place is at stake but regrettably can't manage to do consistently for the rest of the season.
