NEWCASTLE AWAY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can't even remember being this nervous for the last game at Highbury, I can't even contemplate finishing below that lot.

Feeling strangely calm for this one. More excited than anything. No doubt that'll turn into nervousness later though.

I just hope that they're fired up for it and that it doesn't take Newcastle scoring a goal to wake us up.

I think we'll bag a couple of early goals to settle us down, just a feeling 8)

SAFC are shite like but I think they're being a bit too confident, Di Canio won't accept a shite performance and he's told the players that if they don't put 100% effort in he's going to cut their holidays from 40 days to the minimum he can give them (28). Some of our players also had flights booked from London so they could go on holiday straight after the game and he's told them that they've lost their money - he wants them focused on the match not thinking about a break so all of the squad have to go back to Sunderland after the match and there will be a couple days training next week before they go anywhere. The pressure is off us but we've sold out our allocation and after a, by and large, woeful season, Di Canio and the fans won't accept this underperforming bunch of tossers putting in half a shift. With nothing to lose we just might spring a surprise on Tottenham. Fingers crossed anyway.
I like your style and, to some degree, Di Canio's but those young millionaires are gonna hang him out to dry. Clock is ticking. The supporters? Like most modern footballers they don't give a flying fcuk....

(Course I hope you're right and I'm just old skool cynical)

I'm getting pre-match butterflies here.

If it was anyone else we were competing with and if it meant that ODL was for the chop I would feel a lot more relaxed but its those tossers from down the lane and we are stuck with Mr Myopic so its time to strap yourself in for the roller coaster ride.

I think we'll win and they'll win

3-1 Arsenal- we'll start well and go 2-0 up but we'll slacken and they'll get it back to 2-1 before 10 minutes from time we'll get a 3rd goal with Arsene sprinting down the touchline ala Moaninho at OT celebrating the retention of the Virtual Trophy.

we will be leading, fell asleep in last 10min and they will score. With all our strikers already comfortably sitting on the bench, our only hope will be gervinho.
Draw

Hope it does the trick.

We'd better bloody win and finish at least fourth, otherwise I shall have to face the Spurs fan not three desks away from me at work tomorrow. I want to be saying, "hey Ryan, Channel 5 for you" rather than attempting to hide.

Football is such a funny thing. I'm a cynical person who takes pride in that. I'm an agnostic verging on atheist who only believes things when he sees them.

Therefore, it doesn't make any sense that I'm so superstitious about Arsenal. I have a feeling about what our performance and result will be, but I cannot bring myself to post it on here for fear of jinxing the result. Mental.

So, I'll just say that we're going to lose 2-0 8)
