Wenger on making a bid for Luis Suarez…
"I never said we have made a bid to Liverpool, now I can tell you we have made one, so at least that is some information. All the rest, I would like to keep to us. If we progress in that situation, we will inform you. At the moment, that is where we are".

Wenger would shit himself if the bid or bids... underbids... ever got accepted....

"Suarez wants to come to Arsenal. Fans can't really complain. The Club have gone in big for him. The clause is the issue." -
The fans CAN complain if we don't get him because it always felt like a long shot whereas other targets (who have all moved elsewhere) were probably far more realistic.
If we're stuck with Giroud as first choice this season, there should be panic on the streets of London. Dublin, Dundee, Humberside...

But re your original point agree completely. This saga will continue for at least another week or two so if it doesn't come to fruition our summer will have been spent watching potential options move elsewhere, chasing a player who realistically wasn't really attainable for us and then being left up shit creek in the last window or so.
I'll keep saying it - for a club that expects to pay less than others do for quality players, it amazes me that Wenger continues to believe that the last week of the window is the best time to do business. If clubs are going to part with key players for modest fees, that is not going to be the time they do so.
Liverpool seem determined not to sell him to us for anything less than £55m; Wenger seems reluctant to go up to that figure. Rather than fecking about until the end of the transfer window chasing something that barring some kind of legal dispute appears unlikely to happen, why don't we just go all in for Rooney? United don't want to sell him to Chelsea but would probably let us have him if we put in a decent - and by that I mean realistic - offer.

Is Rooney still up for it physically and mentally? Luis Suarez would give 100% and he just had a great season.
I wouldn't mind Rooney but he is a bit of a risk. Also he's on very big money.
IHH, how much would you bid for Rooney and what salary would you offer him?
Let's make this clear, if the choice is Saurez or nothing I will take Saurez but if there is any credible top drawer striker available then F**k Suarez, the horrible bitey racist diving buck toothed transfer hunting scouse ***** bag can stay in that flea ridden shit smelling dole drawing scumbag housing hole that is Liverpool.
We have no trophies at the moment but we still have a small bit of class left so stay where you are Hannibal!

Without a doubt. I think the one thing you can't question about Rooney is his motivation. The guy is a winner, has the Wright attitude (pun intended ) and would imagine gives his all even if playing a park match with mates. Not that I see it as a problem with Rooney but getting him physically and mentally at his best shouldn't be a problem either. It was only a couple of seasons ago that he scored loads of goals and even last season when he played less often (probably a contributing factor in his putting on weight/feeling dissolutioned) had something like a 1 in 2 ratio. Plus in our team he'd be playing so much that he wouldn't have time to get unfit!!

Less risky than Saurez, surely? Even at £30m and on £200/250k a week wages, Rooney would still cost us less overall than Suarez given what Liverpool want and the high wages we'd be paying the latter. He would fit in well with the plethora of Englishmen in our squad and would also sell more merchandising and entice more attractive sponsorship offers. As he is still England's golden boy, we'd also get a more sympathetic press - which would be a bonus.

Personally I rate him so highly and think he would be such a great fit that I would go up to £50m and £250k per week wages to get him, though I don't think we'd need to offer anywhere near that sort of transfer fee to tempt United.
If we have no class what on earth does that say about Victims,it's everybody else's fault FC.
I don't want your rat faced dirty cheating racist, biting c**t of a player but wish we were rich enough as a club to buy him and then loan him out to Beveren or some other sh*t hole.

Cannot convey how much I dislike that bitter prick Brendan Rodgers.
With his abject failure at Reading seemingly wiped off his CV, he then swanned in to South Wales and took all the credit for the phenomenal foundations that Martinez painstakingly built after stripping the club bare and instilling his philosophy into all levels. Then went to Liverpool and happily lets everybody slag off the previous management and owners to cover for him not being able to get them out of the mud despite chucking money around.
The credit he gets for his football style particularly rile me. Liverpool are fucking dross to watch and aside from being average they are packed full of turgid footballers with no flair or creativity - but the man seems to think he's God's gift to football and that making astute signings or playing anything other than a boring, insipid passing game in midfield is beneath him.
