Fair play to Arteta, big cut on his head and blood all down his neck.

Great first half and business like secind, could have got a couple more but that's as good as I've seen us play for a very long time and first time in ages that I was never worried about the opposition scoring 8)

Arteta back in with flamini has given us extra defensive strength.

Brilliant finish from Ozil and set up another one for Giroud who was superb all night

One happy gooner :barscarf:

How the fuck is Gibbo not in the England squad? He was different class tonight.

It's actually good for us he's not because the more players we have in internationals, the more chances of injury.

Weirdly, I kind of agree. Left Cashley and Baines get stoved playing in corrupt FIFA tournaments and we can manage Gibbs' glass legs ourselves.

Then again, with our medical team.............

He's better than Cole currently.

Far far worse players than Gibbs have got England call-ups, although with Cole and Baines consistently available and performing and also Gibbs' horrendous injury record and shortcomings defensively and going forward I don't think it's a huge surprise he's only managed 2 appearances.

Great first half tonight - despite what the media like to spin I don't think we've played great football even in patches for a long time, but the stuff we played at times against Swansea and in the first half tonight was as good as any since 2007/08 imo. What an absolutely superb first goal - great hold-up and link-up play from Giroud that we didn't see last year, confidence, speed and decision-making from Ramsey that we haven't seen for years and an absolutely top-drawer finish from Ozil that displays his pedigree. Unfortunately there's still a long-term concern for me in that I can't see us winning trophies with our options up front but it's been a while since I last enjoyed a CL game this much.

Giraud has his weaknesses but tonight he was awesome. Fought for every ball, won most of them and even controlled some of his own knockdowns. Among many good performances he was my MOM.

As good as Giroud has been this year, unfortunately, he's just not good enough. I like him, I really do, but, he's too slow, he's not technical enough and, with regret, he won't ever be that player to win us the game unless its served on a plate.

He may be scoring goals, but how many chances, half-chances and opportunities to put someone else through does he miss?!!

I'm happy with Giroud in the squad, but he's certainly shouldn't be our main striker.

Our best performance of the season by miles. What was so good was the way we killed the game off in the 2nd half.Szczesny didnt have a save to make. And once again this season it just shows what a difference signing an out and out DM makes
