WHAM - this (Last) Christmas

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Barcodes away is going to be tough as they're in pretty good form but today I'm a happy Gooner.

Surely Bendtner has done enough to warrant a start up in Newcastle?

No one had mentioned that cazorla starred bossing the game once Ramsey came off and cazorla went into the middle where he is much better than on the wing

We'll win, I don't know (or care) who scores.
Are you watching via tape delay?
No, I was watching via the same means as everyone else (BT).
It was a game we should've won and we did.

Why is it that when giroud misses a glorious chance, some are lightening quick to stand up and slate him but yet those same individuals are silent when wally misses a chance like he did in the first half ? I may be a tough b*stard to please at times but also I have no qualms slating my favourite players (sagna, BFG and arteta) when I feel that their performance merits it. It is because of that mentality that I find it hard to fathom how people can ignore 60 minutes of dross from wally (and he was far from alone) just because he scored 2 (vital) goals - I can kinda understand it when braindead morons like mcallister think like that, but us Gooners would usually be more clinical in our assessment given that it is personal to us

Because of all the wasted efforts Giroud makes! He's being played as our main striker so he must expect to get the flack if he messes up.

you're right, walcotts chance was from a VERY similar play(and angle) to the one giroud missed on monday. those kinds of chances MUST be finished.

Not going to argue, but if augie thinks arteta is motm and yet theo isnt earning his money, let him be.

For the record arteta is far from my favourite player, but he has had a few good games this season.

Carzola in the center is priority others even ozil have to fit around him.

That is a point that I made myself recently cos at the end of the day goals win matches and after scoring his 1st, wally looked far more lively.
The point I was trying to make today though, was that if scoring 2 second half goals wouldn't have redeemed giroud's dross to that point, then why does a different policy apply to wally ? :? Everybody has chosen to ignore that question and instead focus on the fact that he scored twice or the fact that I believe arteta should have been motm, but maybe someone can tell me now why wally is judged by different rules ?

Well if scoring two (match winning) goals isn't enough for the critics to admit someone has redeemed themselves from a poor performance, then I think that says more about the critics than the player - be it Giroud or Walcott. :rubchin: :rubchin:

I'm totally with you, if you go back and look at what led to their first goal it was about walcott doing what he does best...dribble at full tilt into 2-3 defenders and get muscled off the ball...20 seconds later we're down 0-1.

Maybe because he isnt missing sitters week after week? but either way wally needs to sharpen up just as much as giroud. Walcott needs to be able to put together a 90 minute performance that resembled the last 20 or so of todays game. I just want more consistency out of both of them!
