Can I just say, and I'm talking in general here, but imo people will either rate wally or they wont but if they are not sure how they rate him then a goal against Cardiff wont be neither a deal clincher nor a deal breaker
I didn't see any of the game and actually made a point of saying that alan McNally reckons that he played well today so at no stage did I knock him - what I have said is that scoring a goal in a game against Cardiff doesn't make a player no more than missing the chance would break him. Your efforts to justify your opinion on wally cos he scored today is a touch sad in the same way that you tried to defend bendtner on his thread just because he scored today

Re: CARDIFF HOME THREAD
Rosicky made a real impact. He always injects pace and movement into the side. Prior to that we were poor. Tons of possession in front of their defence and barely a shot on target.
Pod isn't a lone striker, nor is Theo.
A top quality striker and we've got a real shot this year.

Re: CARDIFF HOME THREAD
Wenger playing with 2 DMs against Cardiff at home probably explained why this match was like taking a difficult shit. Then look what happened when we changed formation, created more chances and what do you know we won the fucking game.

Exactly, there are games where playing both might be merited, but not at home v Cardiff, we had 70% odd possession but as usual it was sideways and backwards with little forward balls / players running at and taking defenders on, that changed with the subs.
We could have done that in the first half and saved all those bitten nails at the end.
The win is more important than the performance though. still top

In spite of Wenger, not because of.
Re: CARDIFF HOME THREAD
Just back from the match. First half was fucking dire, absolutely dreadful. Can't afford too many more "performances" like that. Had they all been out on the lash last night? They looked like they couldn't be arsed, seemingly oblivious to the fact that we're actually trying to win the league.
Second half, better. As has been mentioned, why the fuck the nutty professor insists on playing two DMs at home against a team hovering above the relegation zone I have no idea.
