Swansea match thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He'll just wonder what the fishing net with white posts is for.

If Arshavin was still around, he'd have Sandi Toskvig for company!

Can't remember the last time I consciously decided not to watch an Arsenal game but Saturday against City might just be one at this rate

What makes you think we'll win the FA Cup?
My neverending optimism
Well, I wish we would, not just because it would be a great farewell for Wenger, mostly because we haven't won a f*** for 9 years 8)

i'd like to say i'm shocked but i'm not.

if he can't motivate his players then he's lost them.

maybe they've seen the writing on the wall for him too ? - you think about it, two more losses and Wengers done. bould comes in temporary, form goes up, get picked for World Cup. Job done...

can i put a $5 on Wenger saying Jaded in Fridays post match interview...(yes Friday).

They'll scrape a 2-1 win tonight and Le Failure will go into overdrive about "Mental Strength" - after which all will once again be rosy in Le Garden.

Until the next fuck up. . . . . . And repeat until 2017 :banghead:

That was fucking shit. We didn't trouble one of the most average teams in the league who looked fairly comfortable against us for 45 minutes. What a great reaction to Saturday and as for Wenger, it's clear he can't get the players up for matches these days, so just fuck off.

Why do we bother giving it to Sagna when he's on the flank with a full-back to beat? He'll either just bottle it and check back or he'll try and hammer a cross into the box that may look dangerous but realistically is never going to be converted.

The way we've set up tonight is almost as bad as it was Saturday. 5 central midfielders - 2 of them who are of no use in the attacking third - and a predictable slug of a striker who makes carthorse Ashley Williams look like a sharp CB. Is it yet another team who have come to the Emirates and thwarted us with a magnificent display at their maximum capacity? No, it's us playing into visitors' hands, making things easy for them and making them look miles better than they are.

Our last 8 home PL games - Everton, Chelsea, Cardiff, Fulham, Palace, United, Sunderland, Swansea. 7 of those 8 games we haven't scored in the first half. Aside from the one where we did (Sunderland) we've laboured in every single game and I don't think I'm being at all unfair or exaggerating to say that all of those other games have been really sub-par performances.

Beginning to think it might be physical rather than mental, I don't think there is a lack of desire to win the game. We just look a step behind the opposition and have done for some time now. I don't choose to believe everything I read in the red tops and while that ex Wales coach is clearly something of a self publicist there is a massive ring of truth in what he has said. We get progressively more sluggish as seasons progress and that's ignoring the massive injury list about this time every year. Wenger needs to seriously look at his training methods if he stays beyond the summer.
