FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm genuinely surprised Chesney doesn't have his own song out for the final tbh. Not Arsenal. Just him.

Seems to have been keeping it zipped since the Chav humbling, let's hope he keeps it like that.

It's the same shit people ripped Chelsea for(CL parade for this year). At least we're one match away!

If the council didn't warn residents, there'd be complaints and 6 o'clock new pieces.

A cover of The One and Only would seem most appropriate

This was sent to me thoughtfully by my sister in law (who runs a business in accessories) after I explained the significance of the Yellow Ribbon to Arsenal in FA Cup Finals. The ribbon will be held in place by a 1930s retro AFC crest badge. Will be watching at home on my own but it is all about ritual...

Yellow or Red?!?!

This is why we need a "What is everybody wearing on FA Cup Final day?" thread. A poll between trainers, flats or heels would also be very helpful.

I was trying to explain to the missus today how I have planned out my weekend time table when she got the hump and near enough told me to do one. It was at this point I started to think back and realised that since I married the wench we have not won a fu*king thing!!!
We have been together 16 years but got married in June 2005. I swear that if we lose on Saturday I am gonna have to bin her as she is obviously a bloody jinx. The kids might be upset for a bit but I think they will get over it

Those of you who enjoy a chat about suitable attire for a football match may want to engage with this chap

You can have a moan about a Chelsea hoon rather than a City type for a while

Giroud.

Subs; Szcesney, Jenkinson, Flamini, Diaby, Wilshere, Sanogo, Santi, Chamberlain (Monreal if ox not fit).

For some reason he always goes with rosicky in big important games, yet rosicky rarely performs unless its against Tottenham.
The way hull have been playing should add a bit of confidence to the team's approach, we should win 2or 3 nil.
What about Santi Carzola???? = surely he has to start?

Sadly there is enough hate out there for the Arsenal that most would prefer to see us humiliated and lose. It would be sweet to finally win a trophy again but I have witnessed enough disappointment to know it is a serious possibility that they'll bottle it. :(

I really hope not as a summer of listening to the 10yrs without a trophy will be too depressing for words. :(

Probably give up football for a while as we know the old transfer train is going to pass us right by for anyone not cheap or decent.

I'll admit, I am not even remotely looking forward to the final anymore, just want this sh*t over. :(

Actually - and I'm saying this as someone who grew up a Gooner during the "boring, boring" years - I've been pleasantly surprised to note that aside from the obvious sources of aggro, we seem to be fairly well-regarded these days in some quarters. I know that the Graun's comment section is probably too bloody effete as a source to make too much out of it, but earlier in the season when both ourselves and Liverpool were in PL title contention, not only was there a significant group of neutrals who hoped the title would go to either us or them - but the LFC supporters could frequently be seen saying that if they didn't win it, they hoped we did. The Gooners there usually responded in kind.

One that made me smile was a post saying something along the lines of "Dear Arsenal and Liverpool, Please, please, *please* do your best to win the PL title this year. Sincerely, Football."

Historically speaking, my late Grandad was firmly convinced that the disparaging of Arsenal in the press was down to a lot of the journos in Fleet Street (yes, this was that long ago) being Spuds. More recently there's been Murdoch's rags who had their tongue so far up Ferguson's jacksie that they could probably taste what he had for breakfast. MOTD has also been a minefield, with Lineker (Spud) and particularly Hansen (who I suspect never forgave us for having the temerity to deny LFC the double in 1989) being loath to say much positive. That era seems to be drawing to a close now, so we shall have to see.

The past is the past, as they say...

Yellow or Red?!?!
Red , I do have the 71 Cup final jersey framed , I bought a signed photo of Charlie George with both trophies from 1971 so I framed the jersey with the photo in front , at a glance it looks like I have Charlie's Cup final shirt.

As far as I know the signs are probably put up in any area before a big final, the council probably shouldn't have jumped the gun but seeing as they only have a 24hr period to organize this, it doesn't surprise me that they have.

I'm sure Hull sh*tty council didn't plan one before the end of the season last year or haven't penciled one in this year.

Anyone living in the area, are the signs put up by us or the council ? :rubchin:

This f**ker is only playing in the final because the Ref was too gutless to book him for a shocking stamp on Januzaj. With any luck Lee Probert might have the balls to send this c**t off if he does it in the final.

Lots of these f**kers have been mouthing off this week, doing interviews all a variation on the same theme, nice that our boys have so far not done any.

Keep it that way, keep your heads down, get yourself ready for the game and do the proper talking on the pitch. That means no d**kheaded tweets Chesney.

Let's send these rugby league f**kers back up to their caves and their egg shaped balls. :barscarf:
This has pissed me off massively, what an absolute prick, thinks he is something, lets embarrass these wankers, I want this to be a humiliation. COYG
