that would be about right - it would also mean if we win we don't sign Cavalho or Khediro and Reus and win the league.OneBardGooner wrote:It tends to happen that the team that win this - Does NOT go on to win the Prem Tilte.

On a separate note why is it a woman that always seems to fuck up the football. Looks like Bertha will be upon us tomorrow afternoon.
Ironically, on the traditional day for the charity shield we have sunshine and blue sky!

I was at the Green Man at the Semi and the Final but the stupidity was at the Semi-final. Yes some kids did get drunk and very silly but they were mostly underage, couldn't hold their drink and shouldn't even have been let in. The 'security' in the pub grounds was non-existent, something which changed for the final. But I have to disagree about the 'place the kids go' comment. As a soon to be 65 year old 'kid at heart' (anyone for a drink on 19th Aug?) who can hold his drink I will be there again on Sunday, singing and chanting with all my mates from blocks 5 and 6. The place is lively and if this is too much for you don't go, I only want to be among like minded supporters.nut flush gooner wrote:Yep thats the place the kids go. Mate is was embarrassing, why did you even bother with the green man I don't know. The globe was full of hard core gooners before the final to the extent that Hull who where planning on using it as a meeting venue, gave up and went to wembley 2 hours early.mickess wrote:I was at the Green Man at the Semi and the Final but the stupidity was at the Semi-final. I cringed when I saw those vids on you tube, apart from showing a lot of dis-repect to the owners it just isn't how proper gooners behave, and I am anything but highbury library material trust me.
Re: Man City Community Shield
No one can defend that kind of behaviour and I am not doing that. What happened was a disgrace by a very few who took delight in posting pics of themselves on social media. I am amazed no retrospective action was taken but as I was there and didn't just take the pics as the arbiter of the atmosphere at the pub I think I am qualified to comment. I am sure that there were many pubs with great atmosphere of which I cannot comment as I was not there. I will however be at the Green Man tomorrow and will expect another great day out at Wembley.
Re: Man City Community Shield
Sanogo in a bit of form. Would rather see him START up front with Sanchez left, santi #10, Ox on the right.
Arteta and Aaron central
The defenders pick themselves
Peace

Quite a calm feeling about today, our best squad in years will definitely give city a game.
Is it me, or do other gooners not take clubs seriously that only have a presence in football because of a rich benefactor. I'm old enough to remember when city (not so long ago) and chelski where utter tripe. You can't buy tradition and class imo.

Re: Man City Community Shield
I see the lesbian thinks we won't compete this season due to a weakness at defensive CM and CB. He must frequent this place! He also reckons Sanchez might fade away as the season goes on due to the lack of a winter break like Ozil did. All fair points if we're being honest despite the fact he's a hottble little *word censored*

I can't pretend I don't dislike the prick but he's not really up there on my hated list. He just wasn't good enough for us over the course of his Arsenal career.
Although we desperately lacked any creativity in 2011/12 the bloke's attitude absolutely stinks and he showed that he's not the type of player who will come up with the goods and lift the team when the chips are down. He would have been an absolute nightmare. Getting £25m for him in those circumstances... him and Piers Morgan are welcome to their Twitter spats but I never lost any sleep about him leaving.

Agree with most of that BUT we sold our tradition a long time ago when we designed a money motivated cartoon crest, and we sold our class some time back when we decided to sue a Spanish hat shop lady

Don't like Nasri but I despise that ubercunt Morgan even more. Pisses me off when people use him to tar all gooners with the same brush.northbank123 wrote: him and Piers Morgan are welcome to their Twitter spats but I never lost any sleep about him leaving.
That and his personal abuse and agenda against Alastair Cook because he's mates with Pietersen.
