1) Tactically. Balotelli playing on his own up front for us? I wouldn't back him to last a single game before he loses his head at being isolated and asked to do so much donkey work, he'll be charging all over the pitch like a lunatic and losing his head. Whilst a bit more liveliness up top certainly wouldn't go amiss, we definitely don't want to lose the one outlet/option we do have there. Quite often playing up front for us is a bit of a thankless task, can't see him doing it. Liverpool are more fluid and flexible when it comes to the role he'd be employed him, which imo would get more out of him and help keep his head screwed on. They would also make him main man and pander to his attitude, Wenger clearly likes Giroud and can you imagine if Balotelli was left out for Sanogo?![]()
2) Squad harmony. Whilst Wenger's socialist republic has many drawbacks, we do seem to have a good togetherness and team spirit, and sadly a fragile mental state. Not exactly crying out for a disruptive, divisive attention-seeking figure. Liverpool on the other hand are desperately lacking that X factor, and teams pretty soon will stop fearing them like last year. They've also got a vacancy for a "giant twat" and joking aside he would right in with the victim culture.
3) Transfer policy. We sign Balotelli and it's the last striker we'll see for years. If it goes tits up, as I expect it would, Wenger goes right back into his negative shell. For Liverpool, At £16m he is just over 20% of Suarez's transfer fee and if he doesn't work out he's a cheaper gamble than the likes of Henderson, Carroll, Lallana, etc.
1. Ballotelli played on his own up front against engerland and did extremely well tbf

2. Yes we have squad harmony but maybe a little too much niceness ? Is it a coincidence that last season the BFG started assuming more control on the pitch and started handing out some right bollocking to his team-mates ? We have not got enough accountability within our team and not enough demands are put on them considering that they are earning massive amounts of cash - if ballotelli is performing well and stars to scream at others to improve too, then I would have no probes with that
As I said on many occasions, reus is my number 1 target and I still believe he is gettable especially when you consider how many Germans we have at the mo - what I am saying though, is that ballotelli would improve on our current options and I would rather buy him than no striker at all
