Anderlecht at home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Gotta admire some people's optimism! Pack him off back to the funny farm

In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter (tonights result) as we will still be runners up in the group and still get hammered in the last 16 by Real or Bayern etc, and Wenger will still be here until 2017 at the minimum.

On the other hand, this result is completely symptomatic of Wenger's utter ineptitude in many aspects of his management. It would be suprising but it has happened so many times now that it is the norm.
Absolutely agree. He runs his bollocks off for 90 minutes, no way he should have played more than 65-70 minutes today.

It won't make a fucking jot of difference because we weren't going to win the group anyway, and even if we limp to two defeats we will undoubtedly still qualify. Which is a shame because we might actually have half a chance of winning the Europa League, although as a winnable cup Wenger would obviously then have to go out of his way to get us knocked out at every opportunity.

It's sad and this is the first time I can honestly say this but today was an overriding feeling of smugness at us crumpling rather than annoyance. It was nothing we haven't seen before, nothing we didn't all already know and everybody will take a bit of notice, especially given the way the season has gone so far.

Rich in Hitchin: Arsenal have no spine, no guts and no brain. Wenger is out of touch and out of ideas. Has been for a long time. Not been good since Henry and Vieira left.

That's more like it! :barscarf:

I agree because part of me would love to have a shot at the Europa League as obviously the CL is an utter waste of our time, but Wenger's tactical ineptitude would cost us in the Europa when we meet teams that are clued up, in the quarters or later. For proof, just look at tonight against the mighty Anderlecht.

On my way back now

So so angry with the team, the manager, the club and even some of our supporters ( I am not sure what I found worse- their equaliser or some of our fans taking videos of the Belgium fans celebrating the equaliser on their phones  )

I bet if we played in the Belgian league, we'd still come 4th every year.

can someone please elaborate on what the anderlecht fans got up to?

as for the game, who really cares anymore, we've all done it to death, we know whats wrong, we know nothing will change till he leaves. i cant get worked up about it anymore and no point going over it all again. we all spout the same after every crap but unsurprising result. groundhog day until he fucks off (and maybe till wiggy does too) and i dont mean as manager, i mean from the club completely. he will undoubtedly move upstairs at some stage and we all know will continue to have his out of touch influence on whoever replaces him. only when he is gone completely can things improve meaningfully.
