As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

ok thats it, enough is enough. Money rules. Get him in now and wipe that smug grin off Abramovich's face.
the alternative is to spend the next 20 years in Chelsea's and City's shadow. Yes that's right you know how we laugh at Tottenham being in our shadow, well we are well and truly in Chelsea's shadow now.
May 19 - the day football history changed
Yes, but you do realise that Usmanov coming in will almost certainly spell the end for Wenger. Do you think you can handle that? (p.s. yes, I'm aware that 'Red Member' is only a caricature and that your actual views may not necessarily echo the ones you post on here, but I'll humor you here and take you at face value).
Can't find the article anywhere, but I think AW once said that even if he was given hundreds of millions of pounds to spend, he would just give it back. Now, that may well have just been towing the party line or it may have been that he genuinely doesn't want to 'kill' Song, Diaby, etc. etc.
That being said, do you really think that a billionaire owner who has invested hugely in to the Club will accept failure for too long? I don't. Wenger would be given a season - two season tops to win something otherwise he'd be out. Is that really what you want?
If bringing Usmanov in means the end of Wenger then fine.
I have supported Wenger this season yes because i felt he was the best option after the mess of last summer - and he justified my support of him
but the season is over now. I will support him if he persuades RVP to resign or if he buys in a load of top class players.
Otherwise he should go.
We're not asking for City-esque spending here, we just want to know that we aren't content with the Champions League Qualification trophy every year and replacing our best players with inferior, cheaper players.
Klopp is staying at Dortmund until 2016 though, so we will just have to take it up the arse for a few more years. By that time, we will probably be out of contention for a manager of that calibre and have to do with Wenger's anointed choice, probably a Polish fella managing in J-League.

N1- Your post makes no sense. Moneyball and City's spending are polar opposites of each other. Usmanov would mean the end of Moneyball, which is what Wenger practices.

Guess I need to look up the definition of moneyball, just a sec.
Look, I'm all for doing things the morally legit way but you have to think about the bigger picture. Football is gone. At least, football as we know it. Clubs are becoming franchises, the mediocre/poor players are multi-millionaire celebrities and the true supporters of the club are seen as entirely dispensable. Success on the pitch is sacrificed by those in charge so that the share price can be raised and then sold on for a profit. Arsenal is a business now. Nothing more, nothing less. Yes, I know we haven't won a trophy in seven years, but did you know we've just accumulated 1.5 million Twitter followers?
So, my Arsenal - the one that I grew up with and the one that my Dad grew up with is a completely different Arsenal from the one it is today. The way football is going, I don't see it ever coming back, either (despite what Nike tell you in their awful marketing). So, as a wise Eastenders character once posted on here - if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Get Usmanov in. I already struggle to relate to Arsenal these days. Can he really make it any worse?

no he has got 2 months to prove he has got a team together that is able to compete for higher than "just the top 4"
that is no longer acceptable now that Chelsea have won the CL
Keeping Van Persie, getting an experienced keeper and getting a proper defensive midfielder is what needs to be done. We have no problems scoring goals but we are incredibly flaky at the back.
Why the hell is Steklenburg at Roma?
Stekelenburg, 28, has issued an open invitation to Wenger to make a bid, stating: 'I have possibly played my last game for Ajax. 'If an offer from Arsenal arrives, I will leave.'
Bloody Hell, Wenger, we could have had him for less then Gervinho, and if Chesny loves Arsenal so much, he would be happy being understudy to a top keeper like Stek.

What are you talking about? He signed for Roma from Ajax last season. Those quotes are 12 months old.

probably the weather, or the economic crisis, NHS waiting times, amount of immigrants in Britain, how the fuck do we know why he didn't come.

Chelski actually showed the opposite
you don't even have to be good enough for the top 4 to win a cup...

uamanov is like the rest of the billionares he wants to be loved and the best way is to pump millions into a team and win something, im a gooner a long time and have seen enough bad arsenal teams to never want to go back to that time again but lets face facts here and the facts are the club as it is will spend enough to get top 4 but wont push the boat out so to speak and if we are to move forward we need someone like usmanov who wants a winning team and not kronke who wants a nice balance sheet,
