In one way they absolutely should. But I think the smarter Republicans are playing a kind of political long game here. If Trump gets elected he will fuck the pooch and most likely be impeached within a year. He is THAT stupid. It's too late in the game for that, so they will use tried and tested American Political Procedures to a) Get him into the White House simply because it really is too late to get another candidate and rev up the machine so they they get voted in.

b) They will leave it a couple of months at most then have him whacked JFK style - Then simply put 'their man' in place one who needs their financial muscle and one they can control totally - and not long after that you'll see another war given the thumbs up by the chosen puppet and when that happens the arms industry can go into full swing again - All the Oil Barons will meet and arrange for Syria to be finally sorted out so that US military can go in and protect the oil and any other merchandise that will bring yet more profit.
