Re: Transfers / players in / players out merged thread
A free transfer is gonna expect big wages and I was hoping the days of overpaying average players was over

He's still decent. Played 32 games for Juve last season and played a key role in eliminating Spurs from the CL. I doubt he'll be on massive wages considering his age.

Again not sure how good he is these days but he's fucking hard as nails. The sort of bastard the opposition love to hate.
Love to see him leave one on Bellerin in training.

Dunno anything about this guy, but seeing as it is the defensive side of our game that is in the biggest mess, you would think that this is another clcik bait story

Oh...who? It is happening all over again. lichsteiner, he is to Emery that Remi Garde was to Wenger.

Lichsteiner is a fair player imo and he's won several honours.I think it's a tad unfair comparing him to Remi Garde

11 trophies in seven years or something
, a winner with medals to prove, hard as nails, a leader, isn’t this what we’ve been crying out for, if he can pass on the lessons of his experience to some of our snowflakes he’ll be worth the wages

Re: Transfers / players in / players out merged thread
Starting to see a lot of click bate about attacking players, what we don't need is more attacking players until some are off loaded, i'd much rather he concentrate on organising back to front, not front to back
Lichsteiner rumours are slightly worrying if i'm honest he has been a fantastic player but he is 34 years old and his legs could go any minute, the last thing we need is another ancient player whos legs go no matter how good he used to be. I'd much rather younger and if necessary unproven players who he can shape to his ideals.
We all complain about having players to long and too old on contract yet some of you are getting excited about a 34 year old who's best years are behind him and who could be finished at any time

Re: Transfers / players in / players out merged thread
We are a Europa league club now and you shouldn't be surprised to get Europa league standard signings. A 34 year old freebie and Sokratis, a Dortmund reject who had a poor season and their fans want shifted is about right.
Feels like Wenger never left.
