They did in the first half, although we were so dreadful and disorganised that most PL teams would have done the same (and indeed were at that point in the season), but second half I thought we were surprisingly comfortable given our general defensive ineptitude. It would have been a bit of a travesty if we'd have won that game, and we were overall lucky to escape with a point but over the course of the two games (and indeed the rest of their CL campaign) they didn't seem like a team capable of securing so much domestic success in a decent league.

I'm just curious at to whether that is because they simply lacked CL experience and were undone by regulars like ourselves and Olympiakos, or whether their domestic achievements are exaggerated due to Bayern's consistent trend to be outperformed by lesser teams domestically and the fact that title challengers in Germany regularly drop away to mid-table obscurity year-on-year.

I have to say Im hugely disappointed we didnt at least try and get Kagawa especially if the fee reported of around £12-17m reported is true.

From what I understand he plays best as a number 10.He is two footed, creative, a natural at finding space and at 23 is the perfect age to develop into a top quality player- I would have loved to have seen him link up with RVP.

I think, and I could be wrong, that he was another regular that didnt like the ban on swearing and took a time out for a while - I could be wrong though

I like tv5 but am a bit more hesitant to go over the top in my praise of the guy cos, in my opinion at least, his form in the last few months of the season just finished was nothing short of woeful plus our defensive record since he joined the club should raise question marks over all of our defenders.

The m'vila link is in the mail again today -

Personally I hate to see the words "much coveted player" in a story linking us with a player - traditionally we dont do well when we battling with other clubs for proven players mainly cos we wont pay the going rate but also because our wage structure overpays kids and as a result undervalues proven established players

TV5 has the same agent as RVP. Looks like the chap needs a new car if both are off.

Actually Bayern had a very good season and usually would have won the championship with 73 points - but no team ever got as many points as Dortmund this year. They were absolutely outstanding in the league and of course they won it for the second time in a row. So I'd say it's all about experience and of course luck is a big factor (FACT :barscarf: ).

The negative posts on here continue to amaze me. He deserves a new contract and will no doubt get it.
RVP doesn't want to discuss with Arsenal anymore.
Barca is looking at Verminator.
Arteta is looking for new improved contract.
Walnut is not interested to discuss contract extension.
Some Turkish side looking to sign Rosicky.
Arshavin is still with us.
No one wants to sign Bendy, Denilson, Park, Chamakh, Vela, Djoure.
Feels like we are the one missed CL place for next season. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
