WALCOTT - which position is best etc?
Re: Walcott surgery
I wouldn't worry, nobody on here seems to rate him anyway, hes a vastly overpaid headless chicken who cant finish for toffee.i on the other hand am gutted,we will miss him badly

Re: Walcott surgery
I'm not overly concerned as he hasn't been on form of late, but having said that, I don't like to see him injured and wish him a speedy recovery.

Re: Walcott surgery
Just the type of niggly random injury that he seemed to be forever picking up and aggravating circa 2008-10 - hopefully not a return to those days.
I know many on here don't rate him at all and accuse him of banging in goals against the shit teams, but he'll be a miss when we're struggling to break down shite teams and our wide men keep coming inside and congesting the midfield with one man to aim for, when all we're crying out for is Walcott to try and get slipped in between LB and CB.
England, on the other hand, should be relieved. He seems to produce one of his abject, wasteful performances that we all know and hate every time he puts on the white shirt. The fact that the Croatia game still accounts for 60% of his goalscoring contribution for England seems a pretty fair representation of his international career as a whole from what I've seen.

Re: Walcott surgery
Good job we invested so heavily in strikers during the Summer then. To be honest the Self Harmer will get everything he deserves if Le Chapman now picks up a knock or suspension. The flippant Wengerites (yes Dad that's you
) calmly pointed out that Walcott could easily play up front in that eventuality but even he is now injured along with Postman Pat......so we really are down to the King of Denmark and Akpom.
A man we tried desperately to farm out to Eintracht, Palace and Hull could be leading our forward line in the coming weeks.
The imbalance in the squad is an absolute embarrassment.

I seem to remember augie getting lots of stick on here from certain quarters because he was still being negative after the signing of ozil. Well this is exactly what he was on about... one signing does not make a summer! We were in serious need of a striker and we got an injury prone french youngster, well played Wenger, well fucking played!SteveO 35 wrote:Good job we invested so heavily in strikers during the Summer then. I think Augie, myself and the entire English speaking world outside of the Block 2-6 windowlickers recognised the fact mateBrady's left peg wrote:I seem to remember augie getting lots of stick on here from certain quarters because he was still being negative after the signing of ozil. How can Ozil possibly be expected to compensate for a complete lack of forwards when his own goalscoring record is so average or the fact that we could quite easily play a large chunk of the season with a RB playing at centre half
Wenger's latest attempt to copy Spain obviously involves the 4-6-0 formation with the so called 'false nine'

Yeah and more to come from the property developments. Over £200m of debt repaid since the move.....2 more years and Kroenke will be ready to cash in on the big sale !Brady's left peg wrote:But at least the club made a healthy profit eh...SteveO 35 wrote:I think Augie, myself and the entire English speaking world outside of the Block 2-6 windowlickers recognised the fact mateBrady's left peg wrote:I seem to remember augie getting lots of stick on here from certain quarters because he was still being negative after the signing of ozil. Re: Walcott surgery
Wish Theo well.
I know I am one of his biggest supporters on here, whilst acknowledging his inconsistencies he has improved a lot since the start of last season, and perhaps his dip in form this season is because he has been carrying an injury which has now reached critical point and the need for an operation?
With it being an abdominal injury I honestly think it is just one of those things that can happen to any player.
Tony Colbert the fitness coach has a fantastic record of reducing hernias in the squad, and though this is not a hernia it appears to be similar.
In a contact sport this sort of injury is possible.
It gives young Gnabry a chance to grow and gain experience, which is the silver lining, and I think he is therefore unlikely to play a huge part tommorow night.
Bendtner for all his eccentricities and erratic first touch, did work very hard as a right midfielder in his last season as a regular squad member, and put in some decent crosses.

Re: Walcott surgery
This is insane... 5 games into the season and 5 of our most obvious wide players, Theo, Cazorla, Rosicky, Chamberlain and Podolski, are injured at the same time
that's desperately unlucky.

And it's virtually neck and neck for the Online Gooner Grumpy Old Men Trophy, perennial contender Augie just about edging ahead of the bookies' favourite GoonerSid, but it's a marathon not a sprint, and the season has barely started.augie wrote:Expect a new series of "best sellers" to be on the shelves for xmas

Knowing our luck, if we'd signed a striker in the summer he'd probably now be out injured too anyway.SteveO 35 wrote:Good job we invested so heavily in strikers during the Summer then.
