THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wonga could spend 100m in January and it won't make any difference. New arrivals will be injured inside a month and it will be Flamoney and Coquelin all over again. You can throw all the money in the world at a team, if there is no leadership, organisation and planning.......you will fail, always!

Once again on MNF on Sky the pundits correctly point out everything that is wrong with Arsenal and yet again fail to recoginse the cause of the problem. That being The Manager.

the most number out of any Premier League club.

yet you go on their twitter feed and it is just full of people saying Wenger out

is this really something the club should be celebrating/advertising ?? :rubchin:

Exactly. You'll have Gary Neville correctly bleating on about what a shambles we are following whatever debacle has just occurred yet in the same breath slate any fans who dare question the manager for being at the helm for all these clusterfcuks  .

12.22 pm, BBC news. Arsene Wenger says things are looking up for Arsenal after the new year as he expects several players to have returned from injury soon. So there we are. What a truly fantastic piece of news. (And of course we don't have to spend sleepless nights thinking about who he will sign in January as there won't be any). Isn't that nice of him? Oh please, all rejoice.

From the BBC:

Wenger has praised Charlie Austin's "mental strength" and "tenacity".

"It's good to see that an English striker who had played in lower divisions has managed to come up".

Charlie Austin might be coming :barscarf: :barscarf:

Brendan wants him to stay.

Obviously, just like Jose and every other EPL coach, as long as Clueless is here they already know our tactics, makes it a whole lot easier.
Wenger's lame excuse for the poor Anfield first half " In the first half I felt it was down to bit tactical" and who is to blame for that?
If you took a taxi and during the journey it recklessly shunts a bus, will the taxi driver think "the car has little bit crashed"? no he will say "I have crashed".
Will the clueless clown ever admit to his numerous mistakes?

spot on.

we could buy ronaldo, messi and bale, and it wouldn't stop us throwing away 3 goal leads.

wenger is the luckiest manager in world football - after relegating Nancy he was given an open check book at Monaco and then inherited the best back 5 in world football who could just 'go out and play' as could parlour and bergkamp. vieira and henry were the same - sol could too and so could gilberto.

as far as i can remember he has never addressed or fixed any of our weakenesses or his mistakes.

my personal theory is that wonga is now trapped in an elemental loop in the space time continuum, and he thinks every year is 2010 - so every embarrassing loss is new surprise each time, as is carrying 10 injuries every season, and playing a weakened team then losing top spot in the CL group.

i'm convinced that every time he doles out those sad cliches like 'playing with the handbrake on', being 'a little bit physically jaded', he thinks its the first time and its as cute as his 'prettiest wife' put down to fergie - you can almost see the smirk and him thinking "zinger ! "...

its the only logical reason i can think of.
