But surely we know that the outcome will be shite whether its (a) no signings (b) last minute rushed ones (c) no signings or (d) AW tries to spin the return of Vela, Denilson and Bender as being "like having 3 new players!!"- so why give AW the benefit of the doubt when there is no doubt in my mind that nothing will come of the 'potential signings'. I see M'vila is hedging his bets now until after the Euros just in case he has a blinder and a side with some ambition comes in for him. Can't say as I blame him.ForeverRed wrote:Give it time. Doesn't make sense. Once the window closes it's too late. I'd wager that the complaint will be "look, there's nothing that Wenger can do now that the window has closed. Let's not abuse him and get behind the team. Let's see what he does in January".ForeverRed wrote:Give it time. Lets abuse AW if we haven't got anyone when the window closes.
And so the cycle continues...

Thats the very same reason that I have always been opposed to the "lets give him the next transfer window to sort it out" - once that window passes in the same done fcuk all type of way as the previous ones then it will be another season down the shitter

He'll sign a couple of youthies and make RvP see out his contract. Does it help if I say my man at the club told me this?

dilemma's Dilemma's DILEMMA'S..........

It looks like this is going to be as excrutiatingly painful as last Summer's Transfer Thread...all the usual crap rumours from *word censored* off side and other sources - all of whom have no better information or idea what is going on than you or I - So do we keep coming here each day in the desperate hope a rumour may give rise to a signing or actuallly getting shoy of some of the shyte that we have had to endure wearing the Arsenal shirt.....so, do we totally ignore this vanity thread that is merely mirroring the desperation of many Gooners in the vain hope that we might actually sign Someone, Something, Anyone, Anything !...or do we just focus on enjoying what ever sunshine June, July and August bring our way and forget all about Arsenal till the start of the new season...or do we put ourselves through more torture, as we (foolishly) keep alive a last lingering futile thread of impossibly miniscule hope that one of the numerous rumours just might bear fruit...
It is like watching a derby game against the scum - we are under the cosh - it's all evens on the score front then the ref blows for an extra 3 months of time..

RVP staying for one more year is the best thing for the club. Looks like Vertonghen is still waiting/hoping for a call from Wenger.LDB wrote:He'll sign a couple of youthies and make RvP see out his contract. Does it help if I say my man at the club told me this?

No and No. Rvp staying for another season and running down his contract is not what is best for the club - for starters we would be writing off a possible 30m transfer fee but secondly how can a man that is not committed to the club be expected to be captain and lead the team ? I'm not saying I would lose respect for the guy but I know if I was one of the players I wouldnt be 100% behind him and would feel that his agenda would no longer be that of the rest of us.
Vertonghen is not waiting for our call - even if you dismiss the rumour that we had agreed terms with the guy before then expecting him to renegotiate for a lower wage (thus totally pissing him off

Only 86 days until the transfer window closes
I was just thinking when it closes we will have to have a post rumours thread or should we just keep this 1 open
Any thoughts on that and please no bad language

FUCK OFF !!!

Re: McDowell's VANITY 'Rumours' Thread
I am looking at 30m vs another 30 goal season. I do not believe in club to buy adequate replacement. I do not think so we are going to have any issues with RVP commitment. If that is the case, none of the transfer deals make sense.augie wrote: No and No. Rvp staying for another season and running down his contract is not what is best for the club - for starters we would be writing off a possible 30m transfer fee but secondly how can a man that is not committed to the club be expected to be captain and lead the team ?
