For the other 89 clubs in the league they should mean something.

We will never ever win the PL or CL under this ownership structure and management team, so its beyond me how anyone could even begin to turn their nose up at a real piece of silverware. I've yet to attend a cup final that wasn't enjoyable and that includes defeats to Luton and Birmingham :banghead: Still a more enjoyable and memorable day out than trekking around Europe watching us get rolled over in a last 16 game in a competition we'll never win
Who's turning their nose up?
You are calling it the 'reserve team credit card' cup and then say there's no snootyness !

Isn't that like saying I'm a very respectful person but quite frankly you're a *word censored* :D

There are 4 cups worth winning in a season - 5 if you get knocked out of the CL and drop into the Europa League.

The Emirates Cup is a worthless cup, not the League Cup

I would love to win it but given the way we've treated the competition since Wenger took over and also the plethora of ridiculous names it's endured you can't blame people for calling it the Beer Cup or whatever, even if I agree with you that we're not too good to disregard winning it.

When we get to the 100th page of this thread I really do think that we should let HighburyJD have free reign to list 100 things I love about Arsene Wenger

That way we're guaranteed another 100 pages in response

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Overall I believe that 98 pages is one, maybe two, per cent away from being complete :D

I agree with weakened teams in League Cup
but not in tough FA Cup games. It's been our first team knocked out recently.
attitude is a whole different argument

Is it sponsored by a credit card? Do the big teams and many smaller teams player reserves and arent too concerned if they make it through or not? Then its a fairly accurate description and ive said i want to win it

SteveO - it is a shit cup, taken seriously by none of the big clubs. But I'd still love to win it. At this stage I fucking celebrate if TV5 wins the coin toss before the game...

Because you seem to take pleasure in some 'statto' style of running up as many away games at different grounds as possible. Fine, that's your choice. You'd rather play a dead rubber matchday six game in Greece, I'd prefer to see my team at Wembley
You see going to Euro away games as "statto style"?
Either you've never been
or you're seriously going with the wrong people...

Has anyone been watching The Dark Charisma of Adolf Hitler on BBC2? The similarities to Wenger are quite chilling!

Obviously one was far more evil than the other and this comparison will seem excessive and over the top ... but I genuinely do think Hitler deserves to be put in the same bracket ... some of the things he did were terrible!

To be honest mate, after several seasons of the same old shite, it aint easy coming up with something that is too original.

Rightly or wrongly, I genuinely thought of Wenger while watching the programmes. Obviouisly not the Nazi stuff ... but certainly the dictatorship thing. It explains how Hitler refused to let others influence his thinking by going off alone to make decisions. It shows the way he surrounded himself with certain types of people and gradually removed those who opposed him. Plus the clever way he manipulated the minds of so many people, especially the young. As I said, chilling!

That quote would be on a plaque under the bust of Wenger if it was up to me !
