Excellent film, yes there are flaws, but to try and encapsulate his book/biography in 2.5 hours was always going to be a huge ask.
Incredibly emotional - what the White South African Government did to The black people and what they did to Mandela is well documented, but this film really puts it there right in front of you....I am in awe (was before but this really brings it home) at how he was able to forgive them.....don't be surprised if you shed a tear or three.
Out of interest OBG does it look a bit odd for a bloke who is built like a brick shithouse to be playing Mandela in his later years given he lived until 95?

yes mate....it was a bit 'odd' - I think that is why they have the Films Promo Poster showing a profile view of him rather than face on.
Still excellent film & acting though.
Had they got Di Nero to play it he would have gone on a crash diet and had a perma tan done!

12 Years a Slave - meh. Admittedly not my kind of film but struck me as particularly unremarkable. I tihnk they could have turned out a steaming pile of turd and it would still have been critically acclaimed by self-righteous hacks. 3/10 for me.
Filth - dark, very dark. Temptation to describe it as a black comedy but although it has humour and tragedy it doesn't really pull together in the way I'd expect a black comedy to in the sense that there is no humour/irony in the tragedies. I felt that it missed its mark ever so slightly. Would quite like to read the book. 6/10.
