The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ray Parlour: "I was at #afc the other day. There was a medical being done [for Vardy], it looked like it was going to happen." [TalkSport]
Parlour: "But it seems Vardy thought about it while on England duty, and suddenly there was a U-turn."

If that is true he's bottled it...big fish, small pond, small pond big fish, maybe he was reading opinions on this forum. Ultimately no reason to move, he's risen five tiers of football in 4 years not gonna get any higher as he's guaranteed to play CL football. If he's happy and content good luck to him. He's 29 years old, just got married, PL champion, no point moving to us to spend half the season on the bench.

Yeah also would moving to Arsenal suit his style of play? he probably gave that a thought

Wenger loves signing players then playing them out of position

He could still do Leics fans, Leics FC and AFC a favour and make a fucking decision.

Yeah trouble is he holds all the cards, probably thinks Arsenal negotiating team were not worth bothering with updating , he has his £40 K a week pay rise

I don't blame him if he decides to stay. Arsenal have done him a huge favour by getting him a pay rise at Leicester, recently married, adored there, little pressure and why would you move to a team where more than likely he'll be frustrated as are most of the other English players at the club?

Hopefully this has all been a massive smokescreen anyway and we're going to pick up Mikhtaryan out of nowhere (which seems more likely in the last few days).

Ok you can argue we need a striker like Vardy more than another creative forward like Mikhtaryan, but come on he is shit hot.

Nah we will get this deal done - we will meet the asking price, and then pay the lad far more than any other club despite the fact that he is still unproven
