As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

As for being funny i guess everyone has different things that they find funny and then as now Baba's "humour" sails close to the abuse mark which is unacceptable whether to an AKB WOB , MFI or the SAS.
I guess I just find it funny that manages to do it without swearing and comes up with these ridiculous one liners. The "Arsenes little helpers" one a couple of years ago springs to mind. I would love to see him stand up and tell the board to remove Wengers dinkle from their mouths though.
The fact that their arent more posters new or old coming here much lately isnt really anything to do with him either. I would love some of the Official/Non Official AFC forum to come here and try and defend Wenger. Im sure that place is full of WUMs, it winds me up just reading some of them constantly defending the man.
Wenger is indefensible in my opinion but i wish we had some more AKB's just to give other opinions as the usual ranting is tiresome
See that doesnt wash with me - I too would welcome opinions that conflict with my own and when I get them I do try to debate without personal abuse. When I joined this nuthouse in 2007, my opinions were but a lone voice in the wind (except maybe gus) but I stuck it out and continued to argue my points as I saw fit regardless of what anybody else thought - if you have the courage of your opinions then you have to be willing to stand up for those beliefs regardless of whether you are in the minority or the majority. If on the other hand, the akb's have now come around to the fact that nothing will change under le cock, then they shouldnt be afraid to say so on here cos disappearing altogether smacks of cowardice imo.
I too agree that this place has become a bit stale (mainly because nearly everybody wants a change of manager now) but I wont try and get personal with other posters because they disagree with me, and nor will I back up others who cross the line regardless of whether I agree with their thoughts on where the club/team/manager is going wrong
I am no AKB but those who are will point to the fact that 2014 was the most successful in the last decade for the club because we won the FA Cup and Community Shield and signed a truly world class player in Sanchez.
That is actually a fair point because when we look back in 20 years time people will view that success as Wenger maybe doing something right.
It is also the reason why the majority of people at the Emirates have not turned on Wenger and are unlikely to do so until his contract is up, as he will still be able to win enough matches against the increasing dross which is the Premier League.

When you joined mate, this was a place where you could have strong opinions and partake in a rational debate. Unfortunately, over time it has turned into a twitter type place where soundbites, among other things, have taken over.

Be careful what you wish for!
But the debate was better because there was some divide in opinion whereas nowadays 98% of Gooners want him gone

I think the debate was better because people were capable of having a rational debate based upon making sound arguments and evidence.
Perhaps the vitriol is greater on both sides, so that makes for very attritional posting.

Just a collection of repetitive, boring, vindictive attacks on Wenger; no reasoned thinking, no awareness of the bigger picture, just knee-jerk reactions to any defeats.
But I'm sure it's makes people feel good about themselves.
Knee jerk??? I've wanted him gone with 5 years, there are others on here who wanted him out well before that, so to call our opinions on him knee jerk is well wide of the mark.
Not disagreeing with your assessment of the vitrol and I'm certainly not defending it, but I think that it is a fair assumption that the longer the farcical situation at the club is allowed to continue, the more the frustration and anger grows. I also think that some of those that used to defend le cock are now the more angrier of the wob simply because they haven't seen this decline coming - a few of us have been suggesting for a long time that standards had been slipping (these things usually are a gradual slide and rarely a sudden collapse) so maybe are not as surprised as others about the mess we are now in ?

I think that this is a very good point.
I defended Wenger (just about!) until May 2012 . For me when he sold RVP and didnt replace him (and still hasnt btw) that was when I couldnt support him anymore. I suppose even back then I would have been one of the last on here to be anti Wenger but certainly for those first few months after you realise that HE HAS TO GO you feel angrier than at a later date.
over 2 years on I still want him out but I am in a state of resigned acceptance that he is here until the deluded masses at the Emirates also finally get the message that HE HAS TO GO!
Win, lose or draw on Sunday my opinion on him won't change. Same for the game after and the game after, same for any game in fact. The guy's a busted flush and one off results of any kind won't change that. Augie's right in saying that the real frustration lies with the fact that not alone did the AKB's not see this coming, they actually don't believe there's anything the matter now!
We can ship 4,5,6,7,8 goals in games, get utterly hammered and humiliated yet they will see no fault with the manager. I know guys and honeslty I don't think there is any rock bottom we could reach whereby they would dare to even question him. Their adoration of him is almost clut like, completely brainwashed and It makes my head explode

Asinine comment tbh. Calling the desire to have Wenger replaced "knee jerk" is pathetic and incredibly uninformed. We won the FA Cup last year and every single WOB on here still wanted Wenger out afterwards, hardly a knee jerk reaction to a defeat is it?
It was great that we won the FA Cup and many of us were happy HE won it particularly after Moron-hio's disgraceful comments BUT it is "awareness of the bigger picture" that makes us want him gone because we will never be more than a 4th place, occasional cup team whilst he is in charge.
I'll be honest i rarely consider strong opinions on here about Wenger as vitriolic but certainly frustrated, certain posters definitely post near the knuckle however in the main it is done with an element of tongue in cheek and in some cases to wind up other members.
I understand that long term members may feel this has a negative impact on the forum and they may probably be right, but that may also be because they have become jaded by the negativity and over time have given in to a certain amount of acceptance of change not going to happen until 'Le Boss' decides it will.
I'm not so sure that that should mean that newer or returning posters should not be allowed to vent their frustrations otherwise it no longer becomes a forum for debate but merely a split 'club' where only the 'old and bold' members opinions matter

I think LaughingGooner brillantly encapsulates the problem as it is and has been for years. A contributor who has a different opinion but would prefer to attacke the posters, than produce any of the reasoned thinking that he claims is lacking.
