RT @JamesOlley On RVP #mufc privately claiming 15m rising to as much as 22m + add-ons. #afc say 20m rising to as much as 24m Who to believe?

This one hurts. I simply can't join in with all those who are pretending everything is OK by saying "fuck him, he'll be injured by October". This is a guy who supported Arsenal as a kid, wanted to play for us, made himself our 8th highest ever scorer despite being injured for approximately 50% of his time with us, and the only people to blame for him joining our biggest rivals are those *word censored* running our club.

It's a fucking sad day for Arsenal FC and no mistake.

and why are we just typing here complaining about it and not taking action? We might hate how the club is run, but we arn't doing much to try and change things.

Of course its a sad day, but as much as I blame arsenal rvp is no angel in this! We made him what he is, stood by him and after one good season he fucks off, we have bought some decent players and the window is still open.

My honest view is that all players are wankers these days, sad but true

Totally 100 pct agree with this, Wenger and the club surrounded RVP with shit, a team that had no competition within it, which virtually picked itself and short in world class talent, yes he was injury prone but the only reason the club have gone out and signed the 3 players is because of his early statement, if he had signed a contract extension I reckon only Podolski would have been signed.

We have to understand, The Arsenal have and will always be a selling club.

I think 2 of these playres wouldn't have been signed if RVP had signed a contract extension.

Dan_85 - Agree, made me feel sick the news...we all new it was coming but once confirmed, it hit.
What could Arsenal do ? In the cold light of day £20m now instead of nothing next season is better ??
RvP instigated this....alright, through 8 years of no trophies, but he didn't exactly help the cause in that time??
We need to let him know what we feel....hope there is a couple more signings to compensate as I'm quite pleased so far with the signings....and not let on how much we feel 'kicked in the teeth' by moving on, no point moping.
:(

If this club have got any fucking pride & ambition left they should be taking that £24m, spending it along with our existing transfer kitty, and doing every last thing in their power to make sure that Utd and RVP end up with egg on their face by us winning something of note this year and them ending up potless.

I'm not holding my breath though. When the fuck will we speak up against these *word censored*?! Honestly, it makes me so angry that we sit by and just let this happen.

What could we do? Show some fucking bollocks for a start by not selling him to one of our biggest rivals. Sell him to Juve for less. Take a gamble, keep hold of him. I'd rather lose him on a free than see him go to those *word censored*. Granted he could join them next year for nothing, but also he could get injured. There's a chance utd may set their sights elsewhere in 12 months time. Fuck it, he could have even signed a new deal with us by then.

But this is Arsenal 2012, it's all about getting as much money as they can as quickly as they can. No matter who else benefits from it. Those *word censored* would sell him to spurs in a heartbeat if they came in with a decent offer.

I'm not defending RvP by any means, i think he handled this summer very poorly. But this guy is a top, top player. One of the best strikers in the world and he fucking wants to win things with us. We ignored his talents, just as we did with Cesc and surrounded him with total shite. This summer's signings came too late.

Pretending everything is OK by making out he'll be injured in a few months is pathetic, infantile and something spurs fans would come out with.

Yeah but Frank you can't have it both ways. Van Persie's reason for not signing a new contract was cos we weren't as ambitious as him. I've said it about 74 times on this thread that he's acting as if he's carried the club for the last 7 seasons. Why can't a player roll his sleeves up, repay some of the faith shown in him when times got tough and try and change the fortunes of a club instead of just pissing off because we can't spend £150m? Why, because he's a greedy selfish bastard that's why.
One spectacular season and he wants to hold the club to ransom. Fuck off van Persie and when you come back here with your new club, don't expect a hero's welcome from me you selfish wanker.
