ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

I was skeptical about this rumour but seeing that it's come from @FootyInsider247 it must be legit 8)

Arsenal are still in the race to sign Declan Rice | @Football_LDN

Suggestions Man City have bid understood to be premature but an offer is imminent, in addition to Arsenal's third.

Rice preference remains Arsenal.

I’ll be amazed if City buy Rice. I said the other day that he’s not technically good enough to play in that side and that he’d be warming the bench most of the time.

Are they just trying to drive up the price we’ll have to pay?

I haven’t seen much of Lavia. He looks like a good prospect, but is a bit raw and I’m not sure he’s ready to fit straight in at the top level. Not against buying him, but we’ll need another couple, given that Partey and Xhaka (fingers crossed) are going.

The one I wanted was Caicedo. I haven’t seen much of him either, but I like what I have seen and I’ve got an instinctive feeling that he’ll be the real deal.

What I can’t understand is that we were prepared to pay 80 million + for him in January, but seem to have backed off and given the chavs a free run at him now. We should at least be making strong noises that we want him, firstly to drive the price up for the chavs and secondly to try to keep West Ham honest over a price for Rice.

Like others have said, we seem absolutely clueless in our transfer dealings and it’s nothing new.

To be fair the price has already been driven up because his moronic agent had him sign a new deal after our bid, Brighton looking for 120m now which could easily leave him stuck thre.

Mikel Arteta is pushing hard to sign Lazio’s powerful Serbian giant Sergej Milinković-Savić, according to Fichajes. The Spanish outlet reckons Arsenal are willing to shell out €50 million or more to secure the midfielder

That is a proper player, £50m for him or £100m for Rice is a no brainier ( even after a labotomy 😉)

So many rumours, so much rubbish spouted in media just to keep people clicking. I haven't got a clue what's true or even remotely true.

As yet nothing has happened. No one in or no one out.

Frustrating being a fan. :D

Arsenal set to lodge second bid totalling around £40million for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber today.

Opening bid of £30million was rejected earlier in the week and #AFC keen to keep pushing for their primary defensive target. Ajax asked £50million but aware they won’t get that.

I'll be honest and say that I dont remember seeing the guy playing so I know next to nothing about him - I've seen reports suggesting that he can play a few different positions, but what is his main position ? I thought when reports came out first they suggested that he is a right back (that would please me tbh), but sky suggesting that his positions are left back, centre back or defensive midfielder :?
